Morning - Lanky broke thru that awful black & red last night. Yipee! He is very perky & hungary today. While giving him is 3.0u shot, he uncharacteristically jerked - cold, hurt, dunno. I shoot in the scruff between the shoulders trying to select different spots each time. Often I can feel something under the skin in that area and higher up the back to the lower neck area like fluid, swelling, or puffiness. Is that normal? It doesn't seem to be tender or bothering him. I have never tried shooting in the flank but I could try if necessary. I think I recall seeing a helpful video somewhere. Lanky could eat more but after about 1/3/-1/2 can Wellness turkey & Wellness pouch turkey & duck + a little leftover LP pouch, I figured that was sufficient until snack time. We are so happy with the 3 yellow spots last night. It was worth staying up to catch that. Let's hope today brings more.

Here's to a good day for all!

Looking pretty good in here!! Lanky is doing something that resembles a curve now.. so things are pretty settled in.. and touching the yellows 2 cycles in! might not be too far off of his good dose now.. with <300 peaks the dose increases change to smaller amounts.. and the "fiddling" starts.. but hopefully he keeps feeling better and better so it's easier to be patient about it :).. don't know where that black came from though.. yuck!.. ah well..lower today is good :).

No idea about the fluid sorry.

It certainly looks like you're seeing some action on this dose. I know you've heard this and will probably keep hearing it, Lantus requires patience. Before anticipating what the next dose will be, let's get to cycle 6 and then decide. There are certainly times when it looks like a dose is close to the "right" dose and then the numbers settle back to their previous level. If you start holding your breath and hoping, it can feel disappointing and frustrating. So, rather than set yourself up, remember that Lanky is leading the dance and he'll tell you, or his numbers will, what he needs. For the last 24 hours, he's looking good!!

Weird - exactly the PMPS as last night. I think Lanky boy may have fixed himself his own afternoon treat, perhaps a lizard or gopher or the like. He was an outdoor cat w/out much supervision before he came to live with us. He is an excellent hunter. I am thinking I should try to constrain his outings at least until he is regulated - or go with him and supervise. Yeah or Nay? Since I was being food conscious today, I think he probably took matters into his own hands because he was making quite a fuss to get out.
