I was so discouraged last night when we caught Cinco licking his leg - right after I had commented on here about how good he was being! I took the bandage the rest of the way off and put his collar on. He was NOT happy. This morning I rebandaged the leg and took the collar off, and so far he hasn't bothered it (anti-jinx). I don't want to try to wash it while it is so raw. He HATES having me mess with it, has always disliked having his back legs touched. I guess we'll just have to go with the collar when we can't watch him for a few more days. We see the oncologist on Wednesday, and perhaps he/she can advise me of anything I should be doing differently in dealing with this issue, too.
Cinco didn't eat much of his first breakfast, again (I'm beginning to suspect it's because of the cone - he ate it yesterday morning when there was no cone), but polished off every speck of the second breakfast and waited for more (again - no collar). I think I will have my DH take the collar off tomorrow morning. I know his issue is that he doesn't have time to wait around for Cinco to finish eating and put the collar back on, but if we leave the bandage on tonight, then he can just leave the collar off and I'll be up a couple hours later. Cinco's pattern is to sleep after breakfast, so he probably won't have started messing with the bandage by the time I'm up to watch him. That's the plan for now, anyways. Subject to change!
Sasha ate her breakfast with enthusiasm this morning, so I'm thinking the SEB in her dinner last night helped! I will continue to give her 1/8 tsp in each meal and maybe we can finally lick this sensitive tummy thing. Paws crossed!
Feeling the effects of my assault on the encroaching weeds and berry plants yesterday - sore back and muscles! It stinks getting old!
Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG: Cheers to the ongoing OTJ trials - Boots and Jersey! Everyone else, have a great Monday!
