Hi Deb! Thanks - you guys are my inspiration. Boomer certainly doesn't have a perfect spread sheet but he's still chewing. Who woulda thought??? :lol: :mrgreen:

Good Morning, Traci & Boomer!! The Blind thingy just drives me nuts.. So I leave them lifted & have the street lights shine in my eyes all night.. The things we do for the kitties!! It is their world, I just pay bills in it! Happy Day 6, how very exciting for you & Boomer!! Goooooooooo Boomer!!

P.S. Thank you for all the food enticing suggestions... I will try the nutritional yeast flakes.. on the list that is the only thing I have not tried. Baby does love the freeze dried.. for that I am grateful!! (((Thank you))) I could not belive you remembered what she does/does not like (parmesean cheese!)

Hi Nicole-

You are so cute. I remember when you and Baby first started here. I think it was a couple months after me and Boomer. I remember how worried you were and that you had to change their fuds. People were giving you options of how to get them to eat and I happen to remember that Baby didn't like the parm. :lol: It's funny the way you know stuff about other people's cats after a while!!!

yay Day 7 for Boomer, half way there, wow that was fast!!!!!! Where do you get those nutritional flakes you were talking about and how often do you use them??? Soooo happy for you guys!!!!! :-D

Hi Everyone-

I feel terrible. I almost DIED when I saw this number. He puked tonight. He's also got an unbelievable appetite like last night. Then a very stink poop - not like usual.

Why does it seem like Boomer's the only one who has higher numbers on trial? Have other cats had this too? I'm going to test at +3 to see if he brings himself down. If he does, can we go forward with the trial? I think he will, he always has.

He DOES have IBD and he takes meds but they aren't perfect. This puke was nothing like the last one. This one was small but it still messed up his numbers. Id there anything in the protocal that addresses higher numbers while on trial - other than testing in a few hours to see if he comes down?

I was very hesitant to post this number tonight. I know it's insane, but I feel like I'm failing. :sad:

lots and lots of kitties get higher numbers during their trial, don't let one number worry you. He's not feeling great, so that probably has something to do with it. Just check again later. We're looking at trends, not each individual number. It'll be ok. :smile:

Thanks everyone. This is SO nerve-wracking. The weirdest thing is that he wants more food but I won't give him any until I test again. For dinner he ate a can of FF and 3/4 of a can of Friskies. Boomer has always had weird appetite issues - hungry but won't eat much just whines at me, eats just fine, or has a HUGE insane appetite like tonight and last night - I haven't seen this in a while.

Should the next test be at +3 or +4?

I'm just now seeing your earlier post....that would freak me out too, not because it is so bad in the scheme of things..but because it's just scary not knowing what it means, or not. This trial comes with all this uncertainty of changing rules and what are they? I didn't even have the before the trial rules figured out. We just have so much hope for them to do so well and feel good and be healthy.

BUT,..now as I check in and see the updated +3 number, i just think WOW....look what Boomer did! He dropped 60 pts in 3 hours all by himself with no insulin! :shock: That's the REAL story here. Doesn't he make you proud?
It's just such a crazy roller coaster this FD....
