Trix seems to be getting back on track. Her appy and her demeanor are both much more Trixie-like...not 100%, but definitely much, much improved - anti-jinx. I could even say her appy was happy this morning....humungous anti-jinx. Man, what a weekend filled with stress - again!!

I did finally speak to vetty while I was at the bead show yesterday, and she did prescribe a 2-week course of AB (zeniquin), along with a refill. She trusts me to use my discretion with this. What an awesome vet - trusting the caregiver to know her cat best!

However, given Trix's circumstances are just so unique, I am holding those in my back pocket for right now and keeping a close eye on how she's doing, rather than jumping right in to using them. While I was at the show, DH said he thought she was doing fine and didn't need the ABs, but of course I needed to be able to see that for myself. It was very hard being away so much this weekend and not REALLY being able to observe her behavior. But I think he was right - for the moment, she doesn't actually seem to need the ABs, However, having them in the house does give ME peace of mind; this way, if I feel she needs them, I can start ASAP. I would have held off on having him pick them up yesterday if vetty weren't off for the next 2 days, but I knew she would prescribe them without seeing Trix whereas any other vet in the practice would make us take her in. Better safe than sorry.

I was actually almost happier to see her slightly higher BG this morning, as this is more like a "normal" Trixie morning number. Don't get me wrong, the greens are SO pretty to see, but for her first reading of the day, they're just not Trix's personal definition of "normal". So maybe this has been a p-titis flare that is now settling.

The bead show was good, profitable, but exhausting. Shows are always tiring, but given all that has been going on lately, this one was extra tiring. I am relieved it is behind me...the anticipation of being tied up like that was a huge stress factor for me. Unfortunately I don't have " real" day off until later this week.

My Dad is about the same....slowly getting better, but still not feeling like a ball of fire. He has had a lot of improvements in the past week, though. He is tentative for chemo tomorrow, but I have a feeling he's going to need another week for regaining his strength.
Time to get moving...have a great day, L&LL!

Glad to hear Trix seems to be back on track. It is so nice when a vet will trust the caregiver like that.

Morning Amy :coffee::coffee::coffee:

YAY! Trixie is doing well. A great WCR. You really do have a great vet.

Good luck to your dad. It is nice to read that things are getting better for him.

Nice too on the successful bead show. :) :cool:

Have a good day today. I hope all goes well.

Great news that Trixie is feeling better. Sorry I missed the stress. Poor girl and poor you. Those trusting vets are a god send. We have one as well.

I hope your dad is getting better and better. ((((AMY))))
