Yes, he did actually test today's date. And that is the HIGHEST number that he's ever gotten. I sure hated seeing him post a red number.

But, last night at +5, he was at 182, and that's the first time since I've been home-testing him that he was in the blue, so that is good news at least. :)

I leave some canned food out at night so that both of the cats can eat if they are hungry, as they both have always been grazers, so I don't know when Pumbaa ate last, but he woke me up, like normal, this morning, wanting his food.

I would guess it's most likely a bit of a bounce as he was not used to having any blue numbers. Soon he will be more OK with the lower numbers and stay there longer.

Thank you, again, Gayle. Even though I have looked at the "jargon" page and read about "shed" and "bounces", etc., they make much more sense when someone like you is kind enough to point them out in relation to Pumbaa's chart!

I think of their high numbers like climates.... you can be used to the tropics, and then someone sends you to Canada in December OMG It's FREEZING! You will shiver and try to warm up, yes?
Eventually, over time, you will adjust to the cold and it will not seem as bad as it was that first day.

You can think of all kinds of examples where we just get used to things the way they are. They could be wrong but they feel 'right'. If someone comes along and says we need to switch, there will always be some resistance to the change but over time, we come to realize that this new way is not too bad at all! And we stick with it.
And so will Pumba.

And that shed is just your spare tank of gas in the trunk.
