I seriously don’t understand. It has to be glucose toxicity, but I think I am going to get Max tested for IAA when he gets his labs next week, just so I will know what I am working with. I know it doesn’t change what I’m already doing, but I need to know. He was doing so well a month ago. I gave Max 7.5 units this morning but I will be gone at +7 for a couple of hours so I will leave food out if necessary.

He is going to do this to me now. Diving. I have to be at a doctors appointment at +7 today. @FrostD should I feed him LC and monitor or MC to slow the diving? What do you think?

@Bandit's Mom Bhooma are you around today? I gave Max 1 tsp of 8% carb (Weruva Funk in the Trunk) mixed with his LC. Just recheck in a hour? I know he’s at a good number but I was trying to slow the dive. I will have to be out in about 2.5 hours from now.

I'd test again +5 and see how big of a drop that is, and go from there. Curious if you'll end up with a PMPS nadir

Okay got it. You never know with Max. His nadirs vary to me. I guess he’s got me concerned because of all days I have to be gone this afternoon and I’m not sure for how long. I have an infected ingrown toenail that has to be cut out. When it rains it pours.

He got HC @ +5 before I saw your post @FrostD so now @+6 he has gotten to green. He is sleeping. Should I try to feed him some MC, LC or HC....or just let him sleep and check in an hour? @Wendy&Neko not sure if you are around yet today?

Wow! Looks like you probably made the right call anyway! Max!

I guess more HC because I'm not exactly sure when he'll nadir...

Back home from being on the water now. How long will you be gone?

Oh fun! I really don't know for sure how long I will be out. Going to podiatrist for infected toenail to be removed. I don't know how long that will take. I have to leave in about 45 minutes. It's about 30 minutes to get there. I know that's not helpful info.

Test before you go and decide based on that what to do. And update the spreadsheet to show the HC was at +5, not +6. I'm expecting you'll be gone at least two hours. Will you be leaving about 1.5 hours after the HC?

Freezing out today!

Yes that is right. I fixed the SS too. I'm sure it was cold being on the water! It's almost 80 degrees here.

OK after 1.5 hours he'll still have some HC in his system. If he's flat or down at that next test, I'd give him some more HC which should slow him down and last for a couple hours. If up from the last test, that's him rising on his own and you could be OK with LC or MC.

1 C when we started. So DONE with this cold weather. We warm up and take layers off when rowing, but chill when we stop. Gotta go warm up.

Okay Wendy thanks so much. That makes sense. Rowing sounds like a great sport and good exercise. I’ve never done it. Kayak’ed before though. Warm up!:)

Gave Max a little more HC just a little while ago before I left. Trying to update real quick. In waiting room, hope it doesn’t take too long.

I am back home and have checked on Max. It didn't take as long as I thought. Worst part was 5 shots in and around my toe with lidocaine. Now I have a big bandaged toe. Max however, did great. It looks like he slept the whole time and he is still in green after the HC when I left the house. So I suppose he will be fine until PMPS, right @Wendy&Neko @FrostD ? Doesn't need any LC or anything now? Kind of don't want to feed him or he may not eat dinner. Also, despite the HC, MC he's had today, still keep him on 7.5 tonight correct? I'm sure he will bounce. Thanks for your help today!

Yes, I would stick with 7.5 units for now. Maybe no more food now, but I might sneak another test in around +9.5 or +10 when the HC has worn off.

I had it wrong on my spreadsheet and title, that was +9.5 on that last BG check after I got back. I posted later than when I checked him. I'm going to check him now @ +11. I don't know how I got so confused on the time this afternoon. His PMPS is due in 1 hour.

Sorry to hear about your foot, ouch! All they gave you was lidocaine?? I'd want to be knocked out LOL! Sending healing vines for you!

Max looks good, there must be some unwritten rule that the cat drops on the day when the human has an appointment LOL! :D:joyful:

That is the truth! Max just loves to throw a curve ball lol. Was so glad to see those greens today. He will probably bounce tonight. Honestly I’m not going to complain if he does though. The lidocaine has worn off and my toe is throbbing.:arghh: I didn’t feel it when the doctor was working on it, but I did watch him. If I’d felt that I probably would have passed out! I’m so happy for Max though, I would sacrifice my rest to see him have good numbers tonight. He’s been through so much.

Oof, ouch! I was getting stitches once and that lidocaine did nothing :arghh: I just told them to hurry up, feels like a metal cable being pulled through, eesh

And here's the bounce...at least you get some sleep?

Yep the bounce is here. It’s probably a good thing though. I was falling asleep on the couch. Max woke me up for his snack, so I’m going to give him a little chicken and leave a little bit in the feeder for 1 am….and I’m going to sleep!
