Good Morning LL! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (YUM! I Love coffee!), and Happy Sunday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, KBP!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! Coffee is on, Lola and Bug , founders of Paw Prints Pizza, are ready to go! Want pizza? it is MEGA GOOD! They are busy getting ready for.... uh.... I dunno! but there sure is a flurry of activity in the kitchen. so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espresso, beans from the heart of central Ethiopia. For my mocha fans: Venti Quad orange and vanilla mocha, laced with orange swirls, topped with chocolate whip, garnished with orange zest, slivered vanilla beans and chocolate swirls....... and orange drizzle! SWEET!, and perfect for a spring day. OH! No worries, a dollop of orange and vanilla and chocolate and caramel swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, and a chocolate caramel drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good!

I hope everyone had a great Caturday. Mine was good, kinda mellow, but kinda busy too. I did get the shopping done, but that was about it. I had hoped to make a dent in the laundry and the errands list, but knew too that My DD, DSIL, and Nicholas and William would be by early so we could head up north to see the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. So... looks like the laundry and the errands and the cleaning will need to be done today. well maybe. :? blech... Our weather here yesterday was really great - morning clouds that were gone for the most part by 9/10AM, the warm moved in and the sun. It was about 65 here - really great. It was nice to have a good weather when we knew we'd be outside to see the Festival. The rest of the day was spent just chillin' - sorely needed after 4 busy days with the boys. It was all MAJOR fun, but this grammie- bean needed some down time. Here's what I wrote about the day in last night's post: "Hi Everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. Ours has been great, We all headed on up to the Skagit Valley, Mt Vernon in particular to see the tulips. The area is well known for their blooms and every spring the fields are full of color, People come from everywhere to see the fields, and the garden displays. The traffic up there was awful! So many people! And it did take us a while to make it - way too much stop and go, mostly stop, before we found a space to park. The flowers were so so pretty!, so worth the effort to get there. I brought a spare camera with me today so that Nicholas could, if he wanted to, take some pics of the flowers. He loves flowers! No surprise that he really wanted to do just that, so I told him how to work it, and set him loose, camera in tow. He took amazingly good photos. Nick's Pics RULE!Have a great evening everyone!"

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   The kitties were GOOD kitties yesterday, even Lola. Well, sorta on Lola.... Lola will always be Lola. She was one wound up crazy cat yesterday. The runs are always a constant thing here, but wow on yesterday. She flew through the house, careening around corners, sliding on the kitchen floor, flew over furniture, stopping at times to pound on any available glass surface.. abnd now we have added that fly hunt as she has not forgotten how fun that was on Friday night. NUTS! We had alot of paper bag annihilation too, after I got back from the store. Maybe she's excited to know one of those bags has Kitty fuds in it! Bug and Elsa were visibly thinking: I SO DO NOT KNOW HER!, just like every Caturday.... She was a good girl though after shopping, and made sure she played in the paper bag like she should. As the weatehr gets better with each passing week, her "I WANT OUTSIDE" modus operandi is in full gear. She snuck out once. Well, more like "You are coming in? GOOD! I am going out!" and made a zip through the smallest opening imaginable as I came in from outside. I was even watching for her, and she still got by!   BUT!!! The bean prevailed, as little Miss Mischief stopped to sniff a flower, and I grabbed her by the tail. OUCH, and MEow.... The meow that followed was such a dejected one. Gotcha Lola! Normalcy in MusketeerVille!

Have a great day everyone! I'm not too sure what will be here today. An out and about for sure, but I think it will be local... our weather should be great, so I hoe to spend as much time outdoors as possible, better get that laundry done early! :-D

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN cat_pet_icon

Re: 4/13 LOOSE LIPS: tulis and more tuips.... plus Nick's Pi

OH wow those tulips are just gorgeous! Around here we refer to them as gopher food though. I hope you get the rest of the chores done and find time to get out, I'm sure you will!

Poor Lola! What we are setting up for Izzy is batting cage netting hung from an existing shade structure. It was $75 for a 30' x 10' piece on Amazon. Preliminary tests w/ Emma shows it is pretty effective, we just have a couple of weird corners to deal w. It might work on your deck. I don't know if she could climb it ??? I don't think so, but who knows w/ Lola!

Hi Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) The tulips were just that: gorgeous. I refer to them as squirrel food. I remember the one year I decided I wanted tulips, so planted a horrific amount of them - hundreds... well, the D*** squirrels ate them all, all of them. What ones did survived they waited until the blooms had just a spec of color then ate them too. That was the last ever I tried. Now i just rely on my neighbors the the Skagit Tulip festival. ;-) Cool on the catio for Izzy. That sounds great, and not too difficult to do. Not too bad for the netting - I like that idea, but wonder too if Lola would climb it. nothign with er surprises me any more.  I had looked at runs too, but WOW    on the prices!! Wish I had a family member that was good with wood, carpentry etc I'd ask them to build for me. oh well, we will figure something out.

Those pictures are gorgeous. Nicholas took some great pictures. He's a little photographer in the making.

I hope you can figure something out for Lola so she can get outside. It sounds like she'll keep trying.

I hope you get out today.

Hey Michelle,

I'm not sure which types of runs you've looked at, how expensive they are, what your price range is, etc., but you might check out chicken tractors. Some of them might be a bit less expensive, and the good thing is that they're designed to be portable. I know they also have free building plans available online if you can find someone handy to help you build one. Anyway....just some thoughts I had!

Have a great evening!

Re: 4/13 LOOSE LIPS: tulis and more tuips.... plus Nick's Pi

Loved your (and Nick's) pics of the tulip festival. We went there a few years ago. It's just so pretty with the tulips in the foreground and the snow capped mountains in the background. And I thought the traffic was bad mid week. The weekend would have been crazy! I now plant my bulbs with a little bit of chicken wire placed over top of them. Otherwise the squirrels would indeed enjoy them way too much.

Poor Lola and going outside. My civie wants out badly too but after the one time he got out he is so not to be trusted. But it sounds like Lola is super quick. :o

Hi everyone! How goes tings this fine Sunday evening? I hope the day has been a good one for everyone. We had sunny skies and 75 here today. Can you believe that, what a beautiful day here. The day wa a mellow one, nothing that could be called excitement here.  I made it out for the morning beach walk, brought up the sun, but forget the coffee in the car, lol, and dammit! I had so wnated that cup of joe to accompany me on my beach walk. Guess it wanted to watch over the car.... There was no one there but me. That was really perfect! I took care of a few things here when I came back, and headed out again in the afternoon, it was just too nice to be indoors. I went to the shore, as that seemed like it would be more fun that yard work. It was!, however, one should remember though that when you have sun and 75 the masses come out. and they did. in droves. There was a line coming in as I was headed out: by the hundreds. seriously: hundreds.   There is a reason I try and do the shore here before noon..... omg. all of humanity had to ave been at Meadowdale today. ;-) I will post the Picassa link in tomorrow's condo.

Hi Carla - THX on the poi's. It was hard to take bad shot, as all the flowers were so pretty! I liked what Nicholas did - he really enjoyed taking photos of all the flowers, and I agree! he did a good job too. I so agree on Lola, and yes, she will keep trying. so... on the agenda for spring and summer here: figure out how to let her be outside.

Hi Shelly - oh wow, chicken tractors now I never would have thought of that. THX for the suggestion. That is great! I've just been looking at what I can goggle for cat runs and catios... alot of them are in the $1000 - $3000 range, for just the basics. SHesshhh!

Hi Wendy - THX on the pics. I son wish we could have gone there mid-week. no go though as mom and dad work and they just couldn't get the day off. so weekend it was. Right you are - it is awesome there, very very pretty. Cool on your planting tulips and the using the chicken wire. I may try that too, keep those pesty squirrels from digging up the bulbs. oh yes on Lola - she waits then leaps! Sometime I catch her, a few times she has gotten through.... crazy Lola.
