Yesterday's Condo

Flat yellow kitty last night gave way to a nice, blue today. :-D At least we're headed in the right direction! I decided to leave the cone off last night, and left the bandage on Cinco's leg. I think changing it every other day is good enough. He is just so much happier without the collar, and he's not bothering the incision at all. It's interesting that, with the bandage on, he doesn't seem to be messing with the leg, either. The bandage looks perfectly intact. Maybe the air makes the leg itch or something? Anyway, if it's looking like it's healing well tonight I might try cleaning the underside of the leg to get that adhesive off. I wonder what I should use? Would warm water and baby shampoo do it, do you think? I don't want to have to scrub too hard or use anything harsh to get it off.

Otherwise, Cinco is doing fine. Excellent appy, as usual. He's been lazy today and just relaxing on one of his favorite pads. I guess all that furniture climbing last night wore him out.

Sasha has been on and off her fuds lately. She's always had a sensitive stomach, so I got some Slippery Elm Bark. When she didn't eat much of her breakfast this am, I added some SEB and offered it again. It must taste/smell good, because she ate about half of it without pausing. I put the rest away to offer later (like in a few minutes now), but half an hour later she came down and was sniffing around the others' feeding stations for leftovers. It's like she has morning sickness  . She doesn't do this in the evening! Odd.

Well, those weeds are still out there waiting for me, and I'd better go do something about them before the ground dries out completely and get really hard.

Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all the beans. :YMHUG: Cheers to Boots and Jersey on the continued success of their OTJ trials, and more hugs and prayers to Rachel.

Hi Tricia,
Nice slide for Cinco!
I'm glad he's getting a break from the cone.
He's such a good boy for not messing with his incision or bandage.
Good luck with cleaning the adhesive.....

Sending healing vines to Cinco.
And also good appy vines to Sasha.

That was a nice gentle slide for Cinco today. It's great to hear he's doing so well without the cone.

Years ago, I used olive oil to remove some superglue from a civie's fur. I don't know if it might work for the adhesive you're dealing with??? I've never tried baby shampoo, but it might work like a charm.

Sending more healing vines for Cinco and appy vines for Sasha. I'm glad the SEB helped this morning.

Have a beautiful (and hopefully green) evening!
Shelly

Okay, I came across your post in Tarragon's condo:

Wow on the running. Not my thing at all. We celebrated our 25th by going to Vegas! The only exercise I got was moving from one slot machine to another (well, we did do some walking up and down the strip in between casinos).

Just wanted to say - that's MY kind of exercise, too!

Nice blues for Cinco today. I'm glad he's not bothering the bandage when you leave the collar off. One time some of that sticky flypaper fell on one of my cats. The vet told me to use Dawn dishwashing liquid to get the sticky stuff off. I'm glad the SEB helped Sasha's tummy.

Butter works great to get off pine resin. I wonder if it would work on adhesive. Nontoxic too. WOOHOO for NO CONE!!! :-D :-D :-D

Re: 4/13 Cinco AMPS 267

Thanks for visiting, Mariko, Shelly, Carla, Amy and Liz. Thank you also for the suggestions for cleaning Cinco's leg.

Carla, I know that Dawn has a lot of great uses besides just washing dishes. They use it to remove oil from birds and mammals caught in oil slicks, and it's great for cleaning flea-ridden kittens and getting oils stains out of clothes, so it doesn't surprise me that you had success using it to get the flypaper residue off.

Liz, butter is definitely the most unique idea I've heard. Perhaps I'll try the butter, and wash that off with the Dawn!

Shelly, gambling is my biggest vice. Fortunately for our bank accounts, we don't get to Reno very often (even though it's only 3 hours away), and to Vegas even less often. But when we go, I have a great time, win or lose (and it's usually the latter  ). I'm also grateful there are no Indian casinos an easy drive from us. I would probably be a regular visitor, but alas, the nearest is an hour and a half away, and the drive is complicated.

As predicted, Sasha sailed through her dinner like she had never had a tummy issue. I wish I could figure out what it is with her and mornings. I put some SEB in her dinner, too, thinking that will help prepare her for her breakfast... maybe... confused_cat

I fought the yard and the yard won. Well, I did get about 3/4 of the yard done as far as removing weeds and wandering berry plants (darned things are as prolific as mint and twice as hard to get out!). I got all the rose bushes deadheaded, too and cut quite a few to bring in the house - I love fresh flowers! I ache in places I forgot I had! I think a muscle relaxer will be in order tonight. Hot shower has already been taken.

Hope everyone has a good night and your kitties surf low blues and high greens (hint, hint, Cinco!) . :-D ;-)

i'm jealous you have roses already! i've neglected to fertilize mine yet this spring, but even if i had, this is too early for us.

perhaps a heating pad for those aches . . . :-D

Julie, I don't want to make you more jealous, but I didn't fertilize my roses this year. They are going bonkers, though, and I don't know why. I won't complain, though. I have lots of vases! :-D

Well, so much for being cone-free. My DH just caught Cinco licking his leg. He'd managed to work the bandage up so the raw area was exposed. Collar back on. Very grumpy cat. Frustrated bean.  :YMSIGH: cat(2)_steam

I think I'll wait until tomorrow morning to try to clean the leg. :?
