Breffis has been fed. Attie got sprinkles on top of his which he was very happy about. He did eat all his rawbit last night though without sprinkles. A trip to PSP seems to be on the schedule for the day.

Quiet day on the schedule overall though, didn't realize I only had one set of dog walks today! So wondering what to do with the day, as the shoulder is still a bit tender, and spring cleaning wouldn't be a good idea. Weather is supposed to be good...I may take a trip to the nature center for some of my own down time? Course I could always make a quick trip to the dollar store for a dog toy donation to the dog parks too.

Boy that Bupe sure works fast. Gary is already zoning out and quieting down.

Nice AMPS for Attie, and it looks like you have a winner for the Vet and Clinic. I was reading yesterday's condo. What is PSP? Have a wonderful day.

Household Citizenship Started.

Cats can be amazing creatures physically and personality wise.

I pondered and pondered how to handle the first face-to-face between the boys. Atlas and Gary. Wanting a nice full first encounter and approaching things with great care as Attie is diabetic and Gary is FIV positive.

I remembered I still had Tilei's (GA) harness in the house. So, I located the harness and knew putting it on Gary would be a no-go. So, Attie tried on the harness. Attie...much to my surprise didn't seem to mind it at all. A few treats to lead the way and Attie was a pro on harness :!: :thumbup

Over the babygate we went. Gary has had roaming time between the den, 2 bedrooms now, and the bathroom. So I let Attie wander at will until we came upon Gary. Gary perched in the sitting window gave a chortled meow. Attie ignored him and was more interested in the treats in my hand. :lol:

Gary jumped down and circled around behind Attie and sat down. Sniffing the air and Attie's scent I finally had to physically turn Attie around to see Gary. Attie purring the whole time. Attie looked at Gary and Gary made the first move while I held Attie tight on the harness.

:!: We had a nose to nose kitty touch! A friendly kitty hello :!: With the greeting done Gary returned to his perch and Attie wanted to snuggle more with me.

No hissing, growling, hackles or fluffed tails! Which I sort of expected none of such to occur. Gary has been here nearly 6 weeks already.

What surprised me more was Attie was very cool with the harness.

Hi guys .. very nice start to the day atlas! And what a great report on how the two boys reacted to each other .. so glad you don't have to go through hissing/fighting stages with them .. I think girl cats are always more territorial don't you? Hope you guys have a great day!

Round two...

Gary gets to wander this afternoon. This doesn't go as good. Attie is cool until Muddy gets her tail all in a fluff.

Gary and Muddy....growls and hisses. Attie decides he wants to defend Muddy...I intervene and remove Attie to a bedroom. I try to coral Muddy...ha, ha....not going to happen.

Gary takes her cat tree and curls up in the sunshine to relax...Muddy catches his attention and there is a minor spat on the dining room table...yes, on the table..not under or around, but on. Thank goodness Muddy retreats at my intervention.

Gary returns to the patio windows...somewhere in this minor adventure I release Attie from the bedroom. I am busy watching Muddy and Gary...a fleeting thought crosses my mind...where did Attie go? Never mind though the Gary and Muddy encounter are priority....

After a few more growls and hisses...I think it is time for Gary to retire. He is none too happy with me snatching him up, but surrenders to my embrace.

Low and behold...look who I find feasting in Gary's room>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ATTIE.

Some days I'm just totally dumb. ohmygod_smile

Edit: OMG he jumped from the cat tree to the rail to the dining room table....Muddy was none to happy about that athletic move.

Oooh boy, will be watching the BGs after that carb load! Was it bad? Or just Fancy Feast or something low or medim carb?

Never a dull moment with these guys... :lol: :lol:

Sounds like things are going as well as can be expected!! Yay!! And a beautiful AMPS for Attie today... even better (hope he wasn't carb loading in Sir Gary's room!!).

Poor Mudcat. Isn't just the case the girl only wants the boy she can't have??? Once he's available.... meh. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Well...looks like there might have been a reason for feasting...

Actually it was EVO kibble (13% more or less)and Purina Friskies Mixed Grill...at 8% carbs.

I learned long ago to not serve HC to anyone in the house. Always a low carb option...even in kibble. While EVO is not quite low enough...it is the lowest one can get and when one has a kibbie addict (MudCat), one makes decisions in the best interest possible.

MudCat won't even touch tuna juice... :o It is kibble or nothing.

Gary will eat canned, raw, or kibble...so we'll be ok there. And Attie's raids won't be terribly damaging execept for the gastric upset...which upgrading to NV canned should minimize that issue too.
 
Great day for Attie especially considering the new citizenship privileges for Gary!!!

It sounds like things are progressing nicely with the new resident! I'm sure you're glad to get the neutering done..that will help a lot. Attie is looking very good, even with the contraband! ;-)
