Morning LL! Moonie seems to be leveling off, and her amps isnt too bad compared to yesterday!
Normal behavior from her, happy & doing great to all outward appearances.

You know, DH is going to see his family from Sat. till next Wed., so that is part of my alarm with all this--We have a Very Heavy Cat carrier that I cant hardly lift & my babies are so difficult to get into the carrier-they freak! So if Moonie had to go to vet, I Need DH to help--
But, I cant go on thinking What if?
She will be fine in a couple of days, and if need be, DH said he will come home from work to take her if needed..I have a feeling she will be just fine-Paws & fingers crossed!!

Will test in an hour, hope we see some nice blue--Shot the full 0.5-

Hi Roni, It will be OK, don't stress!! Have you considered getting one of those soft cat carriers to use in a situation when you need to get to the vet but can't manage the heavy carrier? Might be worth a try. Also, I know that NYC has a pet taxi service. Perhaps there's one in your area too. Something to check out.
I'm hoping Moonie will have some nice numbers today. Yesterday was good after the start, and today will be better.

Moonie is going to be fine, try not to worry so much. Even though I am terrible at taking my own advice. But I'm sure all will be well. I have a soft carrier, looks like a gym bag that has a top entry or front entry. It's great since Tray is massive. You should look into one perhaps.

Excellent ideas given here about a soft carrier.. I cannot get Baby or Sadi in any carrier, so they just go in the car.. I know the vet hates it, but it stresses them out less & me too :lol:

We have the soft carrier too and I love it.

Morning guys! I am glad that Moonie seems to be leveling off some... it will be a good day today Moonie, yes?

I hear you on the cat carrier. I bought a bigger one for Mannie so he'd have some space, and could see out, which has been great as he just doesn't get as stressed now when he goes. but.... it is so dang heavy! I too may need to look into a soft carrier. I am sure that Moonie will be fine. so no stressing allowed, OK?

Ohhh she is looking better :-D Nice!

I put gordo in the carrier and then on top of one of those carry cart box-type-of-thing. He's too heavy for me. :roll:

Roni do you have an enclosed garage? I find it much easier to take Josie out to the car by just carrying her. Her carrier is already in the car waiting and she ends up going in there on her own.
I got tired of the chase and sweeping her into progressively smaller rooms to catch her.

ok SHE IS COMING DOWN nicely- Wish it was a little lower, but OK will take high blue--It's still Blue :mrgreen: --I will wait the 6 cycles to see if this increase is enough--

UTI question--If she has a UTI would her numbers be higher than this??
Or does this seem that it is dose related?--

Hi Roni...no answer on the UTI and BG but I believe Mannie's was higher...check with Michelle because that was also the time she was using the Infinity meter that was not working right. I hope Moonie does not have a UTI and this is just NDW.

Hi Roni - with Mannie, when he had his UTI, the only symptom he had was higher BG numbers. This was also at the same time I was dealing with the Infinity meter, which also ran 20% higher. He at that time was posting red and black numbers. so it was a 50/50 deal: meter, and UTI. Once on the meds his BG's did go down, though still a bit overinflated due to the meter.

Does she have any other symptoms? I hope the numbers are just dose related.

Ronni, I have no UTI answers, just wanted to mention the carrier. If you decide to purchase a soft sided, be sure to measure Moonie, don't just go by weight.
I did that for Checkers; bought one for a 20lb pet. He is 13lbs. He takes up the entire thing, 'cause he's long.
So the carrier is for a short fat cat. :roll:

Moonie has come down some--She is acting just fine & I see no difference in her behavior!
So I will wait & see what happens in the next 3 cycles, as maybe she needs more insulin like maybe a fat 0.5--Sometimes, you need to go up to come back down!--Going out to shop--Have a good afternoon

I know it sounds crazy...but i carry binks in a papoose carrier for kids...just sling him across my chest and go.
he loves it...don't know how many cats would though...

hope she doesnt have a UTI...

Oh Celi, I wanna' picture of THAT!!

For the carrier situation.... I do what Joyce does.
Step 1: Find kitty and then carry kitty to the car where a carrier is open and waiting.
Step 2: Shove cat into the box.
Step 3: Listen to howls and moans all the way to the vet office.

I hope Moonie is ok. Her numbers are looking better, blue is always better. :-D

I will Not Celebrate until I see more days like this--
Did speak to vet---- He feels that she could have something brewing, or had great regulation for a long time on a pretty low dose, & now doesnt..So he is giving me some clavamox to have on hand if she doesnt come down on new dose. She was there 3 wks ago & had complete tests, but anything is possible..Let's hope she comes down & this whole thingy was just a blip!
Will retest in a bit--Will look into a soft carrier!! :mrgreen:

It's great that maybe Moonie is Back!!

I'm a late poster, Roni, but just wanted to say hi and I'm so glad Moonie came down tonight! Maybe she is just getting worked up cause DH is leaving and she heard you guys talking about her! I swear, when my DH and I talk about Tessie Lou, she can hear from the second floor, sound asleep and come running down to sit in front of me and listen...It's hilarious!
