Yesterday: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=117039

Thanks again for visiting us yesterday and cheering us on. I really appreciate the support. Like I said yesterday, it brings me to tears. Sarcasm, I can handle. Kindness...not so much! I'll try not to get teary-eyed today, but I make no promises! ;-)

Day 2 of our OTJ trial started out purrfect.....numbers wise. Jersey has decided that she wants to be Dr. Jekyll this morning, though. She growled civie Chappy and then started licking her lips as she pawed at the sliding glass door. She often does this when she sees something out the window that she would like to attack....most often outdoor civie Nona. :YMSIGH: Since I didn't see Nona, I let Jersey loose to stalk other poor defenseless creatures. I just saw her skulking across the yard a moment ago. I have to chuckle. She thinks she's a hunter, but I've never seen her catch anything other than a moth. I just don't have the heart to tell her she's a lousy hunter.

DH has passed his cold along to me. I welcomed in the day with a headache, sore throat, and cough. Blech. I think I'm still going to force myself to get out and do something fun with DH today. We haven't done much of that lately. Besides, if I stay home, I'm going to want to poke the cat. I didn't realize I would go through pokey withdrawals like this! That warning should be a part of the OTJ trial instructions.

My thoughts and prayers continue to go out to Rachel. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Thoughts and prayers are also en route to all of the kitties and beans on the board. My wish is that you all have a wonderful day full of safe green numbers, happy appys, good poos, and purrs.

Shelly

Woo Hoo Jersey!!! You go girl!!! dancing_cat dancing_cat

ohmygod_smile  I can completely relate to the 'pokie withdrawls'! I had those too and even subjected poor Twice to a couple of unnecessary pokes because of it! I never mentioned it because I figured everyone would think I was nuts  It just felt so wrong not to be monitoring more closely after getting into such a habit and routine. If you think back to when you started and see other newbies comments 'I don't think kitty will let me do this' and 'I don't think I will be able to monitor enough' it really is amazing how quickly we and our furbabies adjust to the new routines of pokey pokey. No one ever believes that our cats will actually come looking for their test

Hope your cold is a quick one Shelly! Get out and have some fun :-D

So sorry to hear you are feeling poorly! I hope you and DH get over those colds quickly.

Uhhh.....Jersey sent Gracie an email asking her to hide Jersey's "to do" list.

1. hide the meter...check
2. smash the insulin pen....check
3. bury the pokey sticks in the garden (but make mom think I'm hunting)....check
4. feed all the LC food to the neighbor's cat and keep the HC for me....check

Hi Shelly!

I was SO HAPPY to read your condo this morning!! Day 2?! I didn't even see that there was a day one!!

Yah!! Go Jersey Go!! Whoo Hooh!!

Thanks for cheering us on today, Carla, Angela, Laura, Michelle, Elise, Jen, Amy, Kim, Liz & Anne, Marje, Wendy, Jane, and Tina!

Kim ~ I'm glad to hear I'm not alone on the pokie withdrawals. I may be crazy, but at least I'm not the only one who's crazy! ;-) DH also did both bg checks today, which really chaps me. The bg checks were the only way to exact revenge on the kitty for all of her devious plotting over the past couple of weeks. In all seriousness, though, it really does feel strange - like I'm not doing my job. I'm not complaining one bit; I'm so very blessed to have this "problem."

Marje ~ I'm about tired of all these kitties in cahoots! Thanks for giving me a heads up on the list. Little does Jersey know that she can't outsmart the human this time. The high-carb food (which was marked with a big black X after DH accidentally fed it on a safe green morning) was moved out to the storage room yesterday. The dogs will be having a sugar feast soon if all goes well. Waahahaha, Jerz. Your high-carb days are numbered! I did notice the fluffer on the counter next to the diabetes box this morning. I thought she was going after da bird. I may need to reconsider her intentions.

PMBG was up quite a bit from this morning but was still a good number. I would think the depot would have to be just about depleted at this point. We skipped both shots Wednesday, gave .50 units total Thursday, and then started the OTJ trial yesterday (Friday). I can't imagine there's much left after that. Of course, I know someone mentioned that it can take up to six cycles to drain.

DH and I did get out and go plant shopping this morning. It was miserably windy today, though, so that wasn't even enjoyable. I came home and went btb for about 3 hours. I don't know how we could run around with 105-degree fevers when we were kids but 99.4 temps as adults make us feel like we should be in the hospital. Oh, to be young again.... :YMSIGH:

Hope you've all had a great day! I was able to visit a few condos this morning and hope to visit a few more tonight before the Nyquil kicks in!

Oh boy....you've not really seen kitties in cahoots! They've been much worse!!

I LOVE my fitbit!!! I have the ONE (that's the name of it). I wear it all the time and it has really helped me get refocused on my fitness. Before FD, I was super fit and even for the first year but then the exhaustion started causing my motivation to wane and I was too sporadic. The fitbit has really gotten me back on walking or doing step aerobics every single day except Sunday and the one day, Wednesday, that I HAVE to go into the office for meetings. I make sure that I get in no less than 10,000 steps every day and I'm certain that before, I was lucky to get in 4,000. Once Mike and I started walking again, it wasn't long before I was back to that exercise addiction

well this condo wins the hysterical award today from me!

go Jersey! congrats on Day 2, shelly!

now put down the pokey machine and back away from the kitty, slowly, very slowly so no one gets hurt . . . :-D

You're too late, Julie! ohmygod_smile I couldn't resist the PM+3 test. I'm so ashamed of myself. No wonder why Jersey plots my demise.

The good news is that the urge is out of my system for the night, and she had brought herself down to 64.

I'm going to go skulk off to bed now that I had to fess up.......I can't hide anything from you people!
