He seemed hungry out of bed this morning. Not much of the overnight food had been eaten...obviously didn't love it.
Hated to make him wait to eat. We were late-ish last night so +12 wouldn't be for another 1 1/2+ hrs.
SOooo we took the BG so I could feed him... I GUESS I count this as AMBG? It was +10:30 from last night.
I can always test again to see how the P is working with the food.
In 20 minutes it would be +2 since breffest.....but what do i call THAT one?

Happy Day 9 Betty.
I also get confused as to what times or pluses I should use.
I try and keep to what my normal times but don't sweat it.
Call it plus whatever time you did that last reading I guess and make notes in your ss
as to when you fed him.

Looking good my man Hank!!!!!
Soon to be suit shopping!

Looking mighty fine on day 9 Hank

I usually ended up feeding early on the am 'cause they weren't interested in waiting and I didn't have to since we weren't timeing the shot. I just called my first feeding AM and then did +whatever from that. We often ended up with 13 hours between AM and PM 'cause hubby would stick to the regular time, but I just called that my PM.

This falls place is pretty great Smokey can't wait for you to get here.

Randi-

Do we have to wear a suit?

Still can't get over your little heathens yesterday w/ the turned upside down chicken treats. Hysterical. Looks like you HAD $100 worth in there.

Maybe that's what I should give Hank for his party??

You getting excited?

We'll probably go casual Austin-style. It's laid back here...not too much dressing-up required for much of anything.

But if you would like, I can turn it up a notch for him at Max's soiree'. (too much black though & he'd look like Halloween)

Wouldn't that be funny...to let them just roll in FDCC for their parties..like falling in the schmaltz pot! lol

Happy day 9! One day closer to his party (antijinx!!) and Tugger is trying so hard not to be far behind!

PMBG- 91 Not our best number. Today's been a little off all around. We started off testing over and hour early 'cause he was hungry. Overnight food was apparently unappealing so had gone uneaten. He didn't eat much today...and when he did I had to coax him. I have been crumbling up Evo on top...just 3-4 pieces..but may have created a monster as now he seems to want it each time or not interested.
I was preoccupied & busy today then gone for a few hours so not as many mini-meals. He was hungry when i got in but would only eat a few bites EVEN w/ the evo sprinkles..so hand fed and he took some more bites.

So i thought i might try to test him again in a couple hours if we are still up. But then I heard guttural noises coming from downstairs and he's at the door having I imagine seen a cat stalking by. I turned the light on and saw nothing but he got rather worked up and stayed that way. Heavy panting, all that. So my guess is with the stress we would get a skewed number anyway.

So in the beginning after he was diagnosed but prior to being on insulin, I understood that if he was not eating, which he wasn't due to being sick and inappetant, his numbers would probably run lower. Now while we are on trial, they say if i get a higher number to feed and wait a couple hours, then test to see if he brings himself down. Is it still not the case that if he isn't eating much, for whatever reason, that his numbers would still run lower?

Thanks everyone for visiting & all the good wishes.

'Spearamint's still going well I think....I'm so happy for my Hank.

Wonder if Sir Hank has figured out that not eating gets him lots of attention... ? I mean heck, he gets hand fed, he gets EVO and FDCC and mom spends her day chasing him around with the food bowl... I can so see Tugger playing that up for everything it's worth lol.

I've also read that kitties don't generally eat big meals. They would normally eat 15-20 small meals (sometimes just a bug) a day. A bug would be a bite or two, so it might not be the problem you think it is. If he's doing this often throughout the day, he's just eating lots of "bugs." I'd still be watching closely to make sure he's not dropping weight or loosing his shine or getting rough coated etc. but if there are no indications of him not feeling well, I'd just free feed canned food and let him eat when he wants. Got to run the boys to school, back in a bait, I think I had more thoughts but they ran away when the boys asked for a ride to school...
