Leroy had more blood taken and some urine was taken as well @-) Vet tech called me back about 2 hours later with the results. Liver value that was elevated last Saturday is now normal @-) Triglycerides were high but that is typical for cats that fast before having blood taken. Leroy last ate at 4am. Urine was normal and it is consistent with an increased intake of water which results in more urine coming out. I spent another $200 just to find out that Leroy is healthy ohmygod_smile One more dose of steroid to take. I hope the increased water drinking and hunger will go away soon afterwards.

Leroy and Emma had an unexpected visitor today :o Yes, it was furry and had four legs but it was not a mouse  I was reheating leftovers for dinner and heard meowing. It didn't sound at all like Leroy or Emma. So I opened the door to look in the hallway and a large buff colored cat came running inside meowing :o :o As the cat ran past me I noticed that it didn't have a collar on. I looked to see if anyone was coming after the cat and the guy who lives in the corner came out. I asked if he was looking for his cat and he said yes. I told him his cat was in my place and he came over. The cat's name is Julius Ceasar and has a brother. The guy adopted both of them when they were abandoned somewhere. Emma hid in the bedroom while Leroy just sat outside the bathroom looking confused. Julius Ceasar ended up going under the sofa @-) I managed to get him out by poking at him with the stick part of a fishing pole toy. He ran out and out the door with his owner going after him. The guy was really apologetic about his cat. I didn't mind. I'm surprised that neither Leroy or Emma were hissing up a storm at the intruder. Squishy would do that when he saw cats outside, even at racoons and skunks.

ok that is a very funny story. i can only imagine some random cat crying at your door, then running in and hiding under your sofa. poke him with a fishing pole toy and out he goes. awesome. at least you got to meet your neighbor!

$200 to hear Leroy doesn't have diabetes is a teeny tiny fraction of the cost if he'd gotten a diagnosis of diabetes, as you know well! i think that was $200 well spent! :-D

That I did  I've seen him around but never really talked to him. He's an older guy and I think he lives alone.

Something like this would only happen to me ohmygod_smile

True. But I wish I knew why Leroy does that coughing/lip smacking/swallowing thing and now the increased drinking and whining for food ohmygod_smile Maybe he enjoys driving me nuts @-)

Leroy is awesome!!!! He is a purebred. They I hear are high maintenance just because they are name brands LOL. I am glad it was $200 for no bad news. I bet he'll bounce right back once the pred is gone. Is he still doing that wierd cough/swallow?

I had hoped a purebred would have less health issues but Squishy still found a way to send a defective one to me ohmygod_smile Leroy is high maintenace because, well, he's Leroy @-)

Emma is just your average DMH. She's only had one health issue since I've had her. I think she still has that cute pancrease

He does do that swallowing thing :? He occasionally lip smacks. I think he coughed yesterday. I had just hung up my coat and heard a noise. I wasn't sure if it was the drawstring of the coat hitting against something or Leroy since he had to be in the closet with me. Leroy was lip smacking when I looked at him, so maybe.

i'm still hearing my pediatrician telling me that 3 year olds are a veritable fount of tics. i think leroy is a 3 year old bean in disguise.

and he plots on how to mess with your head at every opportunity. and steal your money!

What a story! Thank goodness no one got hurt.
I read on the Feline Assisted Feeding board that lip smacking can be a sign of nausea. Not sure if that's the case with lil' Leroy, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
Have you considered pet insurance?

 I keep remembering your story everytime Leroy does something abnormal

That he knows how to do ohmygod_smile Wonder if an AC can tell Leroy to stop it? @-)

Julius Ceaser was Squishy-big and such a pretty buff cream color :-D I'm just glad that neither Leroy or Emma decided to defend their territory

Leroy got out in the hallway once  He didn't get very far before I caught him.

That I know but Leroy is fine. Appetite is always good, though these days he is hungrier :? No puking.

Have you considered pet insurance?

I have but insurance doesn't cover anything for a year after you get it :? I need coverage to start ASAP because with Leroy you never know what his next issue is. I can get insurance from Met Life through work (it's just VPI). I haven't seen great reviews of VPI and it seems like it's a PITA to submit claims and paperwork only to have it all denied because something is missing or incorrect :-Q

When I read your post, my first thought is that Squishy is trying to send you another cat. He can't get much more obvious than delivering him to your door!

$200 spent for a clean bill of health is money well spent. I have Pinkerton enrolled for pet insurance. It is working to keep him healthy so far. I have made a couple of claims for arthritis related issues, and much to my shock, they paid!

I so did not think of that  The neighbor even jokingly said that I could keep Julius Ceasar but I was like, no, I have my hands full with just one cat @-) Technically I could get another cat. Only Leroy is registered with the management office

That's such a funny story. I can just picture opening the door and having the cat run in, while trying to keep your two from getting into it with him.

I'm glad Leroy is ok. He's beautiful too.
