Well we're on day 11 of the Basaglar and it's been a good one!!

Just wish they'd all be like today!! I like my little Miss China in green!!

Been a busy couple of days and they aren't done yet....Had to take DM to get her hearing tested yesterday because she lost a hearing aid awhile back and when the replacement came in, they said they hadn't tested her in 3 years so they wanted to see her so they could program the aids right. That burned up almost the whole day.

Tomorrow she has her 6 month check-up with the cardiologist so that'll use up the better part of another day....and then it'll be Friday and we have hair and shopping to do!!

I really think it's time to move her out of her apartment and into Assisted Living again, despite her objections. She put a frozen dinner in her microwave the other night for 45 minutes and caught it on fire. That's kind of the last straw. I can live with her feeding the cat 10 cans of cat food in 24 hours, but catching the inside of the microwave on fire is just too much.

Crazily enough, the darn thing still works!!

I hate it though....every time I bring it up, she says she really doesn't want to go and you can see in her eyes that it's breaking her heart....It also would mean trying to find a home for Miss Kitty, her faithful friend. If I have no choice, I can take her, but my cats beat up on her and it's really no way for her to live out her final days...being beat up or having to be segregated and alone most of the time.

Being the "adult" really sucks sometimes.

Hope everyone is having a good week and your kitties are doing great and feeling feline!!

Nice numbers for China. I'm sorry about the situation with your mom. That's not an easy decision. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug:

WEll, congrats on China Green!
But as to your mum, hmmm. In Rochester NY, the assisted living facility I visited allows you to have a pet. A cat or small dog. Seems inhuman to deny someone that. However, these are small apartments with communal dining rooms, so maybe not the best if your mum is this forgetful. IS there any way to trick out her home with auditory aids? I mean like voices that remind you that your food is in the microwave, or oven, or whatever?

i know your plight. I had to take my mother's and my dgm's dogs to a rescue group and fortunately they were re-homed but I felt terrible.
Our assisted living allows pets if the owner can take care of them....
but they were both going to a nursing home, not assisted living.

At least China is a nice bright green today.

I know how difficult this is for you and for your mom. Perhaps you could arrange for her to get Meals on Wheels. Then she wouldn't have to worry about cooking and she could stay where she is and keep Miss Kitty.

Lookin' good, Deputy China! Work that Basaglar! We sure had a great time at our party last night. We are good co-hosts.
