Hi I've been following the group for a while, but don't have everything entered, yet. I do have a spreadsheet that has recent dates filled in and I'm working on past dates. Tammy was diagnosed and started Lantus on Jan. 9, 2015. I think her needing a dental has been holding her back from better regulation or remission.
Yesterday morning, she had half a dose of insulin and went to the vet for a dental - spreadsheet lists info:
dental during day resorptive lesions, full mouth xrays, 3 teeth crown amputation, evening 0.1ml Buprenex 0.3mg/ml to be given every 12 hours for pain from dental
closer to half amount of food last night - per vet instructions
She woke me in the night at +7 and was low, fed her low carb FF and monitored her until seemed safe
4/10/15 PMPS 262, +7 53, +7.5 70, +8.25 88 +9.5 119 +11.5 228
just before I was about to give her shot this morning, she threw up what looked like as much as she'd eaten this morning
Trying to get things set up here, I'm still working on it and figuring things out, I'm about an hour late to be giving her a shot. Should I give her any insulin or how much? I'm thinking not more than a half dose, but we both had a really long exhausting day with very little sleep, yesterday, and I'm wondering if I should give a quarter dose or none because we're exhausted and it may be harder to monitor today? After dropping her and another one of my cats off for their dentals, yesterday, I was worried and stressed enough.
Then at work, my coworker was having health problems and I ended up going to the hospital with him until I had to pick the cats up at the vet. My coworker friend had a stroke in front of me at the hospital and I was afraid he was going to die or be permanently impacted. Thankfully, he was at the hospital when it happened and they were able to remove the clot from his brain right away and they're thinking any issues from that he'll be back to normal within a day or two, but they also found blood clots in his lungs and other things - I should probably go visit him, but I'm worried about my cats after their dentals. Sorry so long.
