Good morning, LL.

This morning, my prayers continue to go out to Rachel, who had to say goodbye to her precious Chyna yesterday. My heart aches for her.

I appreciate everyone stopping by our condo yesterday. We had quite a busy night, and I wasn't able to visit many condos. Well....I visited; I just didn't let you all know I had visited.

We ended yesterday evening with a poke fest, and it looks like we're beginning the day with another poke fest. I woke up to an AMBG of 38. :shock: I've tried feeding low-carb and high-carb food this morning; Jersey isn't interested. She's too busy stalking outside critters from one window to the next. The next test is coming up in just a few minutes.

EDIT: The +30 bg was 68.

Sending healing vines to all kitties and beans this morning.

That 38 will wake you up fast. Good luck with the testing today. I hope she surfs safely and eats when she needs to. It's funny how we see those low numbers and panic and our kitties just go on about their normal business.

Good morning, Carla and Jane! ~O) Thanks for stopping by.

It looks like Jersey wants to hang in the 50s this morning. Since I have to go to work in about an hour, I don't feel comfortable shooting this morning (which will come as no surprise to anyone who has been keeping up with my condos this week! I'm a pansy, I admit it. :oops:) So....I'll try to remember to mark all of my times for the rest of the day in time since her last shot as Julie mentioned the other night.

Her PMPS shot is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CST today. After last night, we should be ready for a reducie of .10 units.

I have to go bathe now (my students prefer that I stink as little as possible for class), but I'll bbl today to catch up with everyone.

Thinking of you all this morning and wishing you all a great day. More prayers are headed out to Rachel, too .

Not a pansy! I think Jersey just told you what her thoughts are about insulin. Given how green that AMPG is, unless Jersey is way high tonight (which I doubt), I think it's time for a trial. Here are the instructions:

  • Test at your normal AMPS and PMPS times. Feed multiple small meals throughout the day as much as possible (small meals are less likely to overwhelm a newly functioning pancreas).
  • If your cat is green at your normal test times, no need to test further until the next "PS" time, just feed small meals and go about your day. If he is blue, feed a small meal and test again after about 3 hours. If his number is lower 3-4 hours after a meal, then his pancreas is working!
  • After 2 weeks, if everything is looking good, we have a party!

Sometimes the trial doesn't work the first time and we have to give a little more support in the form of resuming insulin. It's not the end of the world if that happens, we just give him the support he needs. Our goal is a strong remission and it's better to take our time to get that than to rush into remission just to have it fail later on.

Congrats on the trial! Nikki did the same thing to me too before her trial. ohmygod_smile Looks like Jersey wants off the juice! :-D

I've had a feeling the past few days that Jersey was telling you she was sick of shots and testing!

Okay, you guys, just stop it. I've read through all of your replies today, and it just brought me to tears. I know we have a long way to go in this trial, but I also know that we never would have gotten to this point without all of you. Your advice and encouragement have meant the world to me. There's just no possible way the words I write can convey that......And here I go in tears again.... (What the heck is wrong with me today? ohmygod_smile :roll: :lol:)

As I celebrate the beginning steps towards what I hope will be permanent remission (anti-jinx), I continue to keep all of our precious little ones in my prayers. I mourn for those who have gone ahead, and I pray for good health for those who remain with us.

believe me, shelly, we ALL celebrate every one of "our" cat's successes. we're just enjoying it with you and Jersey. It doesn't take long to feel like we know a kitty.

it's good for everyone to celebrate a kitty getting a break from pokes! cat_pet_icon
 
Shelly, this is so wonderful. After Rachel's sad loss, we all needed something to celebrate, so thank you for providing it for us. We all get hope when one of our LL kitties makes it to a trial, and we are pulling for Jersey to go all the way! :-D
