Left his book at home again this morning. I can't seem to get him to MOVE!

Maybe he is moving when you aren't watching ;)....it is hard to tell if there was a party in your absence.

But he's got consistent preshots and that's likely a good thing.

When he went OTJ before, was it kind of sudden or did you see it coming? I'm wondering if you'll be able to tell this time too...

He's doing better now, at +3. I think part of the problem is he says he has no energy, and he eats more than his share of the food. That isn't helping his numbers. I won't be able to do any kind of curve on him until Sat 4/20, and even then, I will miss a portion of the day since I will be at the hairdresser (the reason why I took the day off). His shot time is getting adjusted this weekend due to my work schedule on Sunday, so the pet sitter will be coming over Saturday between 5-5:30p to give him his insulin. I am working until 5:15 that day, but work 6am to noon the next day, so I can get some afternoon readings before he gets his pm shot.

You are so right. Before, he was on Lantus for about a month. I think there were several factors - the insulin, the change in diet to the grain free, high protein & low carb, and the fact that we moved into a townhouse from an apt. He has twice the space and stairs to boot (which he doesn't care for BTW). He was used to eating all kinds of FF and Blue Buffalo Weight mgmt dry (which probably helped him gain weight not lose it). I am trying to remember but I think he got at least 1/2 cup of dry food a day. The folks here got on me about feeding dry so I finally started reducing the dry and increasing the canned (using wellness and bb's wilderness), and changing him fro 2 meals a day to 4 small meals using an autofeeder. He got his last shot of insulin on a Saturday night and if I remember right, the previous Thursday am I actually forgot to put out his dry food. He hasn't had any since.

But to answer your question, I think I won't know if he goes OTJ again until he does for at least 2 weeks, since he's not going thru the changes like last time....

Maybe water down the food more and try to fill him up that way so he doesn't hog it...The energy thing I don't know - except maybe some new toys - I think I saw kong has toys for cats that hold food just like the ones for dogs that might entertain him and have him more active during the day. I rarely actually see mine play with anything - but I find the toys out of their toy basket and all over the house so I know they are doing something with them. Yeah - I totally understand about not being able to get the mids, so I'm just striving to have the preshots under 250 consistently and I figure the rest will take care of itself.

But Cedric is doing well so I don't think a curve would surprise you -- just probably reassure you.

My guess is that Cedric is dropping down to about 150 around +6 or +7. If the PS numbers stay where they are or drop a bit, you probably have found a good dose for a while. Bet when you do a curve on the 20th you will see that nice up side down bell curve:)

Hang in there, Cedric. You'll get feeling better!
