Hi everyone,

Benny's PMPS was 327. I gave him 3 units. Two hours later, his BG is 140. Is this good news or bad? Is he going to become hypoglycemic? Should I be scared about this? Or is he just doing well?

I have not been doing a large number of tests because I plan to do a curve and he is getting upset about the tests. I was hoping to preserve his cooperation for that. I just did this as a spot check.

When you get such a large drop at onset, you want to get another test to see how he is going. It's good that he is breaking into lower numbers. Did you feed him after the +2 test?

Yes, I did and he ate well. He's eating again as we speak. I'll test him again in a little while.

Thank you so much for responding, I'm still really nervous about this!

His +3 is 75. He's eating everything I can give him. He literally ate a can of Fancy Feast. Should I go for the high-carb Gravy Lovers?

He has eaten some more LC, no higher carbs. He's eaten a lot in the last two hours! Since we cut out kibble, I leave him a fresh can before bed and get up early to give him more. Should I leave him a little kibble? Give him some higher carb food?

ETA thank you so much for being here, Bhooma. This was scary!
