Bear Man had a pretty good week. I'm not too impressed with his numbers lately. His appy is interested primarily in renal kibble, so that isn't helping. I have been working a lot, which isn't good for Bears and Teddies, so he had an increase in his house soiling. His cough has diminished quite a bit. I did manage to catch the tail end of a milder coughing attack on video, and sent it to the vet. She thinks it sounds very upper respiratory in nature, and that it could be irritation/aspiration all the pilling and medications that I have to administer, or possibly, a presentation of an upper respiratory infection. Although new for him, it doesn't sound like an asthmatic or congestive heart failure cough to her, and we have to see where he goes with it (hopefully nowhere!). I started him on a low dose of methylcobalamin to see if I can improve his hind end weakness. I will gradually increase the dose if he tolerates it. I may look into injectable if it doesn't work. In other news, I have been able to order Cosequin in Canada, and it should be here soon. Winter returned here, so he hasn't had any walks outside this week, just lots of cuddling in his basket with Teddy.

Awwww Bear Man! I hope you get the coughing figured out soon. And cuddles are good you know! I just had morning bed cuddles myself.

When you pill him, do you follow up with a food or a squirt of water? I read (maybe Dr. Lisa's site) that this will help the pill go down and not get stuck, which can cause the irritation.

Hi Bear Man....glad to hear you are doing ok....get rid of that cough though, k? Raja & Shadow are sending happy thoughts to you for spring to come soon. Say hello to Teddy and you two keep warm and cuddly till we see you at the next party....hugs to you all!

I like hearing that Bear is having a good week. I'd much rather be at home with the kitties than at tbp and it sounds like Bear and Teddy agree that they'd rather have you home.

awwwwwwwww cuddlin' kitties!

It sounds like bearman has had a good week, and any little blips are likely situational. I hope you have had the weekend to cuddle along side your two boys!

It's good to hear from the Bear man. (and Linda :-D ) That cough was worrisome and I'm very glad to hear that maybe it isn't as serious as congestive heart failure. I hope he clears that throat irritation or URI soon. Glad the cuddles are cuddly and hope for warmer days and less pee pee around the house.

Glad to hear that the vet feels the cough is not congestive heart failure. Hopefully he'll get used to the pills, etc. if that is what is bothering him. Sorry to hear he has had more 'accidents' in the house. I hope the Methyl B-12 will help with his neuropathy.

Glad to hear that he and Teddy are cuddle bugs! :-D

What good news that Bear Man had a pretty good week. I hope you are able to figure out the cough soon. Are there any alternative to the pills, as I am sure it will be easier on him.

Cuddles are very good for everyone.

I hope Bear Man has another good week.

so sorry about winter coming back, I hate when that happens...

I hope Bear's cough is just a little irritation and nothing more. The vet's thoughts sound encouraging.
