Jose's AMPS is lower this morning than it has been. I still feel comfortable dosing though. I've been using a sliding scale lately by looking at how he has been responding to previous doses with his past PS numbers. It seems to be working well for us. My mom and brother are home during the day and I taught them both how to test so between the two of them I am able to get some good mid cycle numbers. They also know what to do if he gets close to 50 or below. It's been great having them around to help out. They always text me his levels too so I'm able to let them know if I want another test or if I need them to feed a little food to bring him up.

Is there anything I should know about using a sliding scale? I want to make sure I'm doing this right.

He is looking so good. That is a pretty low number so I am glad your family will be around. He went into the safe greens on 4/7 on a similar number so he should be okay, but just in case, have them ready to feed him a little at nadir.

I think you are doing fine with the sliding scale.

I'm thinking Jose bounced a bit today. His nadir has been at +4 lately but it's possible he could have dropped low at +3 or +2 causing a bounce. I'll be doing a full curve tomorrow or Sunday.

Your 1.4 seems a little high for the pmps, Rebecca. Hope you can watch him for awhile tonight.

When I decide on his PMPS I only look at his past PM cycles. He has been responding differently to the insulin during PM cycles than his AM. He needs more insulin on his PM numbers than his AM numbers even when they are the same. I think it's because in the AM he ate 12 hours prior and in the PM he only ate 6 hours prior because I feed him at 5:30 am 11:30 am and 5:30 PM.
