Morning everyone! I was anticipating coming home because I didn't know how Scrabble was going to be after starting the antibiotics! He greeted me at the door and was very hungry! I got the meter out and crossed my fingers and he is @ 92! whew!!! So I am keeping my fingers and paws crossed that the ab will not affect his numbers! I fed him and he ate a lot, if I put another plate out he would have probably eaten more. My hubby got up (God bless him!) to help me administer the ab. I feel so bad to have to shoot it in his mouth. I gave him his favorite treats right after. The only thing that worried me was he sat at his water bowl after and drank a lot which he hasn't done in a long time. I am thinking though that it was probably from the ab being shot in his mouth that he probably was trying to get the taste out of his mouth or something, does that make sense? Probably nothing to worry about but I am a worry wart if you couldn't tell!!! I have a feeling last night he prob hit below 50 because he was @ 51 @ +2.5 then hubby didn't test him til +4 and he was 69. Oh well! Anyway, happy caturday everyone!!!

Awesome AMPS numbers! Scrabble just seems to take everything in stride doesn't he? You've got a pretty awesome guy there Michelle =) The hubby's not so bad himself, willing to get out of bed to help you give meds is pretty great :mrgreen: See, those scooby snacks work ;)

I would also sit by a water bowl if someone shot tuna flavour abs into my mouth. :lol: :lol:
Give DH an extra big hug today for helping you and Scrabble.
We all know how nervous you areabout the ABs affecting Scrabbles numbers so the
extra support is great!!!!

Ya know, he might have dipped below, but based on his AMPS I would say he probably didn't or didn't go too far below the 50 mark. By the looks of your ss he likes to surf in those 50s. FYI - Scrabble looks great!

Hope he continues to do well on the antibiotic!

So they added tuna flavor to it? Did you smell it? I wondered. Maybe the idea of it to you is worse than it really is to him. Especially if it's not so 'medicine-y'. I'd sure rather squirt than pill...you were lucky on that one.

Michelle))))))))))))) He is taking it like everything else...the tough-guy that he is. Sounds like it was only a possibility not a certainty the AB would effect his numbers. For today it seems you can mark that worry off the list. He's like the energizer bunny...he just keeps going.
Those are some beautiful numbers, I'd say..looks like a cat that feels good to me.

I AM SO HAPPY WITH THIS!!! We are looking good so far with the ab, hope it continues! Scrabble seems normal too which I am so happy for, I don't know if it will take a couple of days for the ab to kick in or this is how well he is responding? I ordered some forti-flora off of amazon last night so I should have that in a couple of days.
Just a question to throw out there for everyone? Scrabble is on Day 8 of .5 dose. He has done extremely well with this dose and has been 98% green. Should we wait until we hit the 40's to decrease or should I wait until after the ab are through or should I try a dosecrease soon? Just things I am pondering in my brain. Would love some input? Thanks everyone for being there and dealing with my crazy ways!!!!

Awesome numbers!

Now I'm trying to get the thought of tuna flavored medicine out of my mind, yuck. I need some jelly beans, yeh, that'll fix it.

What I want to know is, if I start spitting my medicine back at the doctor... will he send it back to the pharmacy and tell them to make it chocolate flavored?

Hi, Michelle & Scrabble.. see.. nothing to worry about ... I told you so!! Give Scrabble time to adjust to his new meds, before we worry over it affecting his BG :thumbup Happy to see he is maintaining great #s on his first few doses of the new med!! Way 2 Go!!

Well? Really. I'm seriously considering spitting my medicine out, and puking on the floor, and turning my nose up to every offering while acting like I'm starving to death.... I mean heck, look what it gets these cats! New clothes, new beds, better quality foods...

NO Libby not home tonight, actually have to leave in a few minutes, DH will be home tonight, I will be home Sunday and Monday night though so what are you thinking?
Shocked to see his pmps of 69, this cat is amazing!!! DH will get a +2 and +4 tonight but not sure if I will be able to post it since work is going to be very busy tonight!! Will be waiting to hear what you say!!!!

I was gonna say that I would hold it at least through tonight, for good measure. Post the spot checks whenever you can. I'm thinking Scrabble could probably handle a reduction, but I also don't see a reason to rush things while he's working on an infection. Tonight's numbers might show us otherwise, we'll see. :smile:
 
You sho be worryin for nuthin ! Look at Scrabble's pretty numbers!!!!! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: So far so good on the AB....So you get these great numbers AND you get to make sure his nasty infection is gone.
Good lookin new T, BTW. I can't believe he just let's you do that. I think maybe Elvis would let me dress him, Hank..no way!

I'll be anxious to see what comes next. It won't be such a bad thing if he just hangs out and takes it easy here at this step for a minute. It's healing time.
