So this am at 430 ish I get woken up by a horrendous smell. Seriously thought my DH pooped the bed. It was a huge pudding consistency poo in, on and out of the litter box. :( she once again did not eat the cat food overnight only picked at it. Should I try babyfood overnight? Say freeze it and put in timed feeder. I tried the frozen food cickles she won't eat them. So got up to wash kitty all over her feet and down her back legs. Bg was 315. Gave her 1/2 jar of baby food. She ate about half. Picked it up for 2 hour amps. At 9 her shot time gave her 1/2 can of ff with pumpkin hoping to help the poo. She ate maybe a 1/2 of that. She has had her zofram this am. First runny poo in awhile, I should be happy. But seriously it made me gag the whole time. bg was 378 :(

She will only eat baby food. And she let me clean caked on poop off her feet! That's not normal. Helicoptering for urine.

She got first one on 3/30. I threw away bottle already. It was 10 days once a day. It covered several infections. My brain just went blank.

Oh, OK. I was just thinking maybe that would be the reason for the runny poop and the pickiness about food, if she'd just started a new antibiotic that didn't agree with her. Sigh. No easy explanations, I guess.

She is not making it easy. It was zenaquin

Poor little one. You might want to try the Saccharomyces Boulardii mentioned in that link from yesterday to see if it can stop the diarrhea - it's no doubt caused by the antibiotic, even if the reaction is delayed. At least I think it's likely. There are "stop diarrhea" directions in the link - basically you're giving it every 2 hours that she's continuing to have diarrhea. If it was just the one blow-out, then maybe you wouldn't need to give as much.

Saw your question from yesterday about the acupuncture. At first I did think it helped Punkin, but I wasn't sure. He did ok when the vet just used needles - and I imagine it was 20ish needles - but one time the vet hooked them up to electrodes. He freaked out and started biting the needles to pull them out. I was doing a dance trying to hold him still, prevent him from biting the needles, holler for the vet . . . ultimately I used my cell phone to call the front desk to have them send someone in to help me. I stopped doing the acupuncture after that.

In spite of this last episode, I think it was worth trying. He had arthritis from the acromegaly and I was always in search of something to bring him relief.

As far as dose, I see Wendy's suggesting 7.0u for morning - I would agree with that. It looks like right now you're increasing by 0.5u after 6 cycles at a dose, right? Since she's got an iffy appetite sometimes, and we don't know what's causing her to need the higher dose, it seems like a good idea to not try to increase faster than that.

Sending calm gut vines to Phoebes!

My Neko had acupuncture and it helped her arthritis. We did a month of weekly appointments to start, then went to about once a month. I supplemented with daily acupressure, which the acupuncture vet showed me how to do. Neko has not fond of the needles, so she usually got 1-3 needles only, and the vet did the rest of the treatment with an acupuncture laser. Neko really liked the acupuncture and it got to the point where she would "show" the vet where she wanted done.

It was only the one bm.she had 2 smallish normal ones thru the day. But will look into the fortaflora. Her poops for 9 of her 11 years of life have been aweful, dry huge, hurtful. Then we found pumpkin. It has given her nice normal, 2 poops a day. Before she was doing 1 every 2 or 3 days. Yay poop. Could you just look at her ss, the first time we gave her the dose increases she hits blues a couple of times and mostly yellows. Now since we have hit 6 units she's been pink almost all the time? 5 units did pretty good (I know there is room for improvement), did I not keep her on it long enough? Ty for your opinion. I am so sorry punkin had to go thru that. What a beautiful soul he looked to be.

Hope Phoebe is feeling better today, that sounded like a rough morning for her yesterday. Sorry for the increase, like Julie said, the numbers say she needs an increase, but it needs to be balanced with how Phoebe is feeling. Hoping for some better numbers soon for your little girl.
