Good Morning LL

This was the first a.m. in about a week I woke up to Latte being out from under the piano. I did not have to 'drag' her out for shot and food. I also heard a little munching about 30min before the alarm. Unfortunately had I not heard it, I would not have known she ate anything because it was so little it didnt make a dent in the bowl. But, it was hopeful...interest in food on own, especially since she really didnt eat since about 10:30 yesterday a.m. (little bit of kibble, 1/4 jar bf). She ate maybe 1/3 can of wellness this a.m., begged me for some of the milk in my cereal (which of course she got a spoon of), and is now eating kibble on her own after refusing more wet. She spent about 30 minutes ON my bed, looking out the window, before retiring to her hiding spot - right before second round of meds, of course! :YMSIGH:

Venita's idea of making another spot reminded me of how I used to make a tent over her throne with a blanket when it was cold. I stopped doing that a long time ago because she would never come out. I thought maybe it was depressing for her, even if she wanted it. After her fluids I tried making a tent, but she wanted nothing to do with it. I revamped it to cover half her throne instead of all, so she can still see but be cozy. Maybe she will choose that spot today.

So we have a good start to our day in comparison to the last week. Im grateful for this. I wish I could trust that it will continue, but I know in my heart she is not on her way to getting better. None of her conditions get better. They progressively get worse. Maybe we are nearing the end, but maybe we are just hitting a new normal in the journey. I cant say I like it, but if she is okay with it...I will take it! Thats really the hard part- is she okay with it? When is enough enough?

I hope her day continues to go well. Ive really missed her this week.

Thanks for all the kind words, and support. We (yes, latte too!) really appreciate it.

Interest in food is a good thing even if it's dry. I'm glad she seems to be feeling a little more like herself today, Carolyn. I hope you both have a great Caturday. Just soak up all of the good moments and try not to stress too much about when they will stop - I know that's almost impossible to do. We're still thinking of you both and will continue to pray for you both.

Well, this was a better report today Carolyn....hope Latte has a good day. You are doing all the right things Sweetie....just love her and be considerate of her as you are doing...that's all she is asking of you right now....when you talk to her, picture her surrounded by white light and tell her that she is going to be fine.
She will be fine, no matter what cause YOU are there with her. Try not to think of the end if you can...just know that YOU will know when that time has come. But don't waste time now thinking of that day, k? Can you do that? :smile:
I believe that they can visualize what we are thinking so guard your thoughts when you are close to her. You have said it all and now you can just hug her...and tell her what she means to you now. You two are SO close. You have been together for so many years....

I agree about our kitties understanding our thoughts.
Just send her lots of love and that you are there for her.
No matter what her needs might be on a given day.

Carolyn, I'm glad to hear that Latte volunteered to eat something today. Please try not to think past today; it will hurt you and Latte to be under that kind of stress. She knows when you're upset.
Love her and hug her, and look at the smile you bring to her pretty little face, when you look into her eyes and tell her you love her. :smile:
I am keeping her and you in my prayers.
I hope you and Latte have a beautiful Caturday. :smile:

I'm really glad that Latte ate this morning. That's a good start for your weekend. I hope she likes her new spot and continues to enjoy life as long as she can.

So glad to hear that Latte is eating on her own. She knows--as cats do--how you feel and she wants you to feel good about her. Enjoy this day with her, Carolyn. It may be the first of a string of good days. Whatever it is, Latte is happy that you are sharing it with her.

I am so glad this morning is starting off a bit better!

Just wanted to say that if you don't want to do this today - it is seriously no big deal. We can do it tomorrow, or I can come test any night this week. This is my easier week coming. I may not be able to make it for pmps, but any other is good, too.

I just don't want to be something/someone contributing to her stress, being a new person poking her if she's feeling funky and wanting a break. You, as always, are the best judge of Princess Hufff & Puff, so you just let me know. I will absolutely work my schedule around the glorious girl.

My big agenda for today is not working according to plan, jackhammers at 8:00 am??? I feel a nap coming! ;-) so I am at your beck and call!

Sending all sorts of prayers to you and Latte, and hoping you have a nice day today. It's turning gorgeous out, maybe she'll want to prowl around outside today - if your roofers aren't around. She can always come visit my porch! Jack and Lya promise to be good hosts. They'll keep the good spots warm in case she wants to visit! :smile:

I am happy to read that Latte had a good morning. You both needed this! Every moment you get to enjoy together is precious.
 
Way to get kicked when already down with out of the blue,completely uncharacteristic high numbers during her a.m. cycle. I couldnt even tell you what this was about.

Needless to say,she was pretty sleepy and not hungry, as she usually is when this high. I let her be and got some of my energy out with cleaning and lots of laundry. She did come out from under the piano a few times. Once it was to explore the bad smell of the angel food cake I burned! ohmygod_smile She also made me into a liar by getting up and walking around when Amy came over to practice testing her for my upcoming bad week. She did look better, despite the high numbers. Both Amy and Latte did a wonderful job! :mrgreen:

One thing I noticed the last few days is even when eating just a little she is having some reflux. It doesnt matter if its shortly after her pepcid, if its wet, dry. Its like a burp. Im wondering if I need consider switching back to ranitidine, which is a nightmare to give THREE times/day, not to mention expensive because we have to compound it.

Im praying she eats tonight, since she has not eaten since about 9am this a.m. nailbite_smile

Thank you everyone for your support. It really means the world to us,knowing how much people care. Your words really do cheer me up and put me at some ease. :YMHUG:

ETA: She also did A LOT of grooming today! Something that was absent most of the week!

Hope she gets hungry tonight and starts munching. Hope you get some sleep in the am and they don't start roofing early on a Sunday!

Give the Princess a smooch for me! She was SUCH a good girl when I was there! I'm rusty and she made me look like a rock start! Thanks, pretty girl!
