Hoping some new dose wonkiness. Ketones negative, though I suspect I'm bugging him following him into the litterbox. Appetite not great again. I gave him less this morning, because I was going to split up his meal since he went a little crazy last night, and he didn't even eat all of that.

Beautiful mid-day number! I hope the urine catching goes better. I used to set up a separate LB with plastic pellets in it on a clean liner...and take the regular one away until Luci peed...Then I'd dip the stick and rinse out the plastic pellets in a colander, allow to dry and re-use the next day. It was a lot easier than stalking her to the LB. Just a suggestion.

Hugo had good numbers today, but I'm still having trouble getting him to eat. He's not acting sick, like he was before, but he's not eating a full meal, which he did a day or so ago. He was ketone neg this morning according to a urine dipstick, and I got him to eat his food by splitting it up into smaller meals, but I'm still really nervous.

I like the PMPS number.
If he’s eating the correct amount by splitting it up to eat at different times that’s really good. I think it’s better than eating it all at once.

I dont think he's getting his whole amount though. And it seems to require a LOT of coaxing. I wish I could just give it to him, and he'd eat. Also how far apart should these meals be? Doesn't he still need the majority of his food when he gets his insulin?

+3 was 351. Ketones were 0.2 at 10pm.

I would divide what you would feed in a cycle (ie what you have been feeding him before the shot) into about 1/3 before the shot then divide the rest into snacks at say +2 +4 and +7. This is just a suggestion. You might rather change the times during the cycle but keep them generally during the first half of the cycle when the insulin is strongest.
With Lantus you don’t need to feed Hugo all the food before the shot as it is a longer acting insulin. Feeding during the cycle is actually better for the pancreas.
