PMPS=147. WOOT! Wellness Chicken/Beef out for dinner, shot f2.
+2=64. Put down some Wellness Chicken and Evo...figured he needed something, so I put both down.
+2.5=65. Layin' on the sofa, life is good...
+3=65. Looks like he's surfing, which is a good, good thing. Lots of food down overnight, so we'll see where he is come morning.

I can't say I'm happy with my kitties' numbers this morning. Eeyore's not so bad at 425; he's seen much worse. But Esse's high, too...so I'm pretty frustrated today.

Eeyore was a bit of a monster last night. Apparently, he thought the bed was his and Malachi's, and everyone got chased off. I had to smack him at one point; he'd cornered Emily on the pillow, her on her back, and she was freaking out...so I reached out and smacked his fanny. The good part of all this is that he has the energy to spare now, which is good...and of course he's front declawed, so didn't do too much damage to Emily at all (other than psychological...). This is the first "big" fight he's had since he's been here. So, I have to think it's a good thing - like I said, he's got some piss and vinegar now, and that's a good thing. Sorta. LOL. Gotta look at the bright side of things, right?

One of my civvies finds herself in that predicament several times a week, poor little girl. Eeyore came down nicely following that AMPS.

Eeyore seems to be adjusting well. Sometimes, they get like children and possessive. Hope he continues to feel good and a little less possessive.

He gets along with them...most of them just don't care anymore. Something got up his tuckus last night, though, and he let Emily have it. Poor girl.

Yes, Sienne, it's a very late nadir. He normally is nadiring at +6...and now...I too wonder where he's going to go tonight. Right now, he's snoring (yes, he snores...) while sleeping between me and the back of the chair, wrapped around my neck. LOLOL. And yes, I've listened with my stethescope to make sure it's not congestion. LOL.

Never did get to the barn today, but will definitely do that tomorrow...just kept going back to bed. I hate that I'm so exhausted all the time...just utterly, totally whipped. I don't understand it. Sigh.

At least the numbers are coming down...

You don't understand why you're exhausted? Let's see: there's nursing school, there are the tests for nursing school, and the papers, and the study groups, taking care of your dad, feeding and caring for 10 kitties, taking care of a horse and a barn, housekeeping at home (not the barn), two diabetic cats (and while you don't stay up late, you get up at some godawful dime of the morning), grocery shopping, and all of the other basic maintenance "stuff" and you do it all yourself. I got tired just writing it all out!

Kidding (sort of) aside, I don't think anyone ever mentions the caregiver stress when you are working with a human or a cat who is coping with an illness. At least when it's a person, there's greater understanding. When it's a companion animal, a large number of people just do not understand. To explain to friends or family that your schedule revolves around giving a shot, they look at you like, "What's up with that?" That most of us are exhausted from monitoring numbers, staying up late/getting up early, and doing all that we do, I think we even forget that it's stressful since it just becomes our daily life.

64, at least. I have put some LC down, and he's eating. So...hopefully, we can get this downturn stopped or at least surfing...

Just poked him, and he's holding steady. Which worries me, this early in the cycle.

OTOH, I also just poked Abby...non diabetic. She was at 75, and took poking in stride...purred the whole time 'cause I was lovin' on her (like I do everyone...). So...she's normal. LOL.

The only one who tried to avoid me was Oliver...but not very hard. Everyone else just sorta laid there and went...whatcho doooin, Mom? I won't try the others...they're a bit skittish, so I'll leave them be. But really...am I the only weirdo here? LOLOL...at least, I don't have to worry about these guys. I'm a tad high...nothing that would be a serious issue (not even need insulin in the hospital, when we give insulin to people who're on corticosteroids as a matter of course); coverage at the hospital starts at 150. LOL. I'm a carb addict, too...so that probably explains it.

Have you guys ever just poked another cat just to see what their numbers were? Or am I the only weirdo here?

sounds like a good sign to me !! I'm sure as he feels better more and more status/pecking order issues may come up and have to be worked out by the kitties --- which they will.
