Ok Chi Chi, why are you high this am? Did she go low overnight? My mom said she woke her up yowling late. I know I wont know if I don't test, and I am failing on those pm test. Once again, off I go to work. Im setting my alarm tonite to test, no other choice.

I'm hoping that you can get those tests in this evening. Her #s will come down, and it does take a lot of patience. A LOT of patience, and a lot of consistency, too, as well as a proper diet, and the amount of that proper diet. All those things play a big role in bringing down, and maintaining BG #s. You're right -- there's no way to know what's going on with Chi Chi's numbers without the tests. I do have a couple of thoughts. I don't know if this is possible given your schedule, but are you able to shoot any earlier? If you are able to shoot an hour or two earlier, you can get an additional test in the AM before you leave for work. It also means your PM shot will be a little earlier and you'll have a fighting chance of getting a before bed test in.

I'm making these suggestions since it is possible that Chi Chi may be bouncing either due to dropping into lower numbers last night OR during the AM cycle.

Is your mom able to help with testing? Having a second person help with the testing makes this so much easier. I do understand, though, since I'm Gabby's sole caregiver.
 
Thanks Angela, I will continue to do my best. Sienne, I would definitely be willing to change dose times, however my job requires me to be there 10 hours with 30 min drive each way, so the earliest I can get home is 7:15. I leave at 8 am and work 8:30-6:30, and struggle to leave work most days on time. I manage a dining room and usually have to leave while its still busy, Before she was dx., I would sometimes be there til 8pm. Only option is amps and pmps, and then before bed test, My one day off I get extra test done between running errands. Its just me and my mom and shes 79. She helps with testing in the am and pm but goes to bed early. I can test by myself ok and its just having to get up at 1:30am to test is difficult. I am exhausted when I go to bed from my physically demanding job. I will do what I can, when I can and then some. I do struggle with when and how much to feed! So confused on that and keep trying different times. Ok, off to bed and will get a early am test in later.
 
Laura, can your mom test Chi Chi on her own?

It'd be a big help if maybe she could get a test in during the day...sometime between about 12:30pm and 2:30pm (and maybe occasionally at other random times)

If you can get pre-shots at 7:30/7:30, plus that one during the day, and then at night, you wouldn't necessarily have to wait until 1:30 to get a +6.....You could get a +4 at 11:30 if that would be a little easier...occasionally get different times, but if you can figure a way to get at least 4 tests a day in, it'll make the picture of what's going on with Chi Chi much clearer

Just throwing an idea out there!
