Thank you for the birthday wishes yesterday.
We also went to the vet. I didn't want to rain on her birthday condo.
Shadow has had diarrhea for a week.... vet could feel her intestinal tract - said it felt braided almost.
Her anus is protuding.... so basically she has kitty hemorrhoids
new medication list.... ( and old) to treat ibd
Budesonide 1 mg 1 x day
Cerenia 5mg every other day ( pills, not shots)
Clay 1/8 tsp 2x a day
ondansetron up to 2x a day
cyproheptadine up to 2x a day
metronidazole 75 mg 2x a day
Gabapentin 1 ml/day
and still the adequan shot every 3 weeks
the gabapentin is new to me....
this vet doesn't like me using bupenorphine....
she doesn't seem to understand the ondansetron but isn't fighting me on that.
she prefers mirtzapine to cypro..... but I don't. Shadow is too fussy with it.
and the budesonide raises her bg....so I anticipate I will have to re-start insulin
I would imagine that this am's low number is that she didn't eat anything all night....
so I'm checking her and trying to get back to a real cycle routine of testing.... ( unsuccessful today)
I am having to discontinue a medication that makes it hard to wake up and that will take a few
days to wear off....
She has lost about 1/2 lb... at 11.98 now
we xrayed her to see if her lipoma was only on the outside of the rib and it was.
it has gotten flatter and seems to be attaching, not as free floating as it was.
and of course, she wants me to feed science diet A/d or some royal canin which I only remember that
one being high carbs.....
I have a lantus pen in the fridge, expires in July , ready to go.
