LL beans! It is I!, MochaMannie, kitteh barista! For today I proudly offer Mannie's special 10 hr energy coffee, and offer triple shot Cappuccinos with extra foam, made from beans from High in the mountains of Jamaica. And for all my mocha fans: a Venti quad dutch apple infused white mocha, with caramel whip, garnished with caramelized apple clusters, white chocolate shavings and a caramel drizzle.......... PRIMO! Only the best for all my customers....OH! Tea infusions too, by request. They is primo too! I SWEAR! Today : caramel apple spice!! Psssstttt.... I gots scones and croissants too! AND! Spring is her, summer is coming: SO: Strawberry FRAPPE'S today!

Yesterday was... fly me to the moon day in MannieLand, again. Come on down Mannie, the yellows and blues await you. ;-) Mannie has an IM Vetty appt today, where we will check his levels, and discuss options for addressing further his anemia, CRF, and related levels. Hopefully we can come up with some options that will work for Mannie, what with his sensitivity to meds and med combos. I hope for a good visit. In the meantime I hope for a good day today, more blues would be so cool! Mannie - here's to you, some very strong feel better, be blue vines. Lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D More or less. ;-) He had an OK day yesterday: outside on the deck for a few, sunning in those sunbeams for the longest time, sleeping in his bed the rest. We had Easter Breffis at the house, crazy fun stuff, but everyone got a greeting from Mannie. He in return got lots of scritches. He loved it, and we even had a few purrs. He managed to get a lick of two of the Hollandaise sauce too. Well, we gave it to him... Nom nom nom! Mobility and Muscle strength were a bit of an issue yesterday, but he managed, just like he always does. Today appy was so so ( :roll: ), LB is normal, Ketones tests have been negative. Test was good this morning, as was the shoot. :cool: Normalcy in MannieLand. :-D yes, it is normal. Mannie said so.

Have a great day everyone. Mannie has his IM Vet appt at 10, and depending on how long that goes and if I have time, I may visit the mountain passes. It will be another sunny day here, and I so love it up there when it is snow covered under a blue sunny sky. Hope I can make it!

Morning Michelle, ~O) and thank you MochaMannie, kitteh barista for the triple shot Cappuchinos and 10 hour energy coffee, sorely needed on Mondays. Sounds like a really nice day for all yesterday, and Mannie enjoyed all the loving and scritches. Sending mega good Vetty vines today for Mannie, and hope the IM Vet can come up with a plan for addressing some of Mannie's issues. We will check back later on Mannie's visit. Those are great pics of DGS and family in today's link. Wow, that food looks so good. Your son does such a great breffifs spread. I hope time allows for some adventure time this afternoon. Sending lots of vines and love to Mannie.

Hey Mannie, radiator time sounds good and chillaxin, as soon alll the snow will be gone. I'll bring some scented lavender lotion to remove Vetty smell. :-D Hope there's enough snow today to make snow angels or taking a walk in it. See ya at my curb, Mags

Hi Michelle, Great pics of your Easter family breakfast. Your son must be a wonderful cook. Nicholas sure enjoyed his Eggs Benedict, and all the games his uncles were playing with him.

We will be thinking of you this morning as you go for your consult with the IM vetty. I hope that all the meds interactions can be straightened out and that Mannie's mobility will benefit. We want your boy to feel as good as he can and to keep doing his Mannie things as well as he can.

I hope you can get out to the mountain passes for a hike this afternoon. Have to take advantage of good weather! (we have rain ohmygod_smile )

Yo Mannie, The radiators are nice and warm on this chilly, rainy day. There's still snow in the yard, so during the breaks in the rain we can go out and slide (the snow is crusty). I'm making a batch of hot tuna toddies. See ya later, man. We'll work on getting off the vetty smell, too.

I hope Mannie has a good vetty visit and you can get some guidance on balancing the meds issues and his anemia. Poor guy with all the visits. But it sounds like yesterday was a good day for love and scritches! have a good one!

Mannie my man. Need to be rescued today ... the bean got out the Box of Tortures and she's gonna puts me IN IT!!! I must goes to the OTJ Party! He had a good time with his uncles - it was nice to see, and nice that there was a chance for him to get to know them. :-D THX on the IM Vetty. I so agree on what you wrote. It is the goal: comfort, and ability for Mannie. Me too on the mtn passes: it is 100% sun ther today, so I plan on heading up there after I get Mannie home. There should be enough time. :cool: Full sun up there today - gorgeous!

My bros and some cousins are coming next weekend. YAY!!! I've got all my paws and fingers crossed for Mannie's vetty visit. Your team of vets work so hard for our barista, give them a hug from all of us.

And YES: I am ever so grateful that the immediate family is right around the corner, all within a 30 minute drive. :cool: THX on the Vetty visit: paws crossed. A given on the hugs for the vetty team - they are indeed a great group of people. :razz:

Hi Mannie and Michelle! Just wanted to stop by and thank Mannie for the quad dutch apple infused white mocha this morning! We ran out of coffee here, so it hit the spot, especially the caramel whip! Hope you visit the yellows, or even some blues today Handsome Mann!!

I hope the vet visit goes well. I really hope you can get to the bottom of Mannie's health issues and find out just what he needs to feel better and something that will not react with another med.

Sounds like you had a wonderful day yesterday with family and the star, Nicholas! He is just so photogenic.

I hope all was well at the IM vet. Paws crossed that the meds will be balanced out soon! Did Mannie show them what he thought of the whole thing again? :cool: :lol: I'm glad he got his bacon yesterday, he deserves it!

One other thought, have you tried raw for Mannie? The Nature's Variety that I give Tess is all very low carb and low phosphorus. plus, it is the highest calorie per ounce cat food I've found, so he will get the calories he needs w/ less food! Some pet stores carry smaller trial sized packages,

245 @ +7. GO MANNIE! We are back from the vet. not the best news....

IM VET REPORT: We are now stage 4 CRF, up from Stage 3 of just one week ago, despite the fluids and the meds. The weight loss continues, down another 3 ounces, despite all the fuds I try and feed him. Anemia has worsened: 23%/9.0. His heat issues continue, BP about the same, but she noted that his is working especially hard, breathing slightly labored (though I haven't noted this) more than like due to the anemia issues. So.... we are now treating for Anemia, in the hopes that this will help his heart, and well as slowing the muscle weakness progression. As hard as his vetty team tries, and I, we cannot slow this down, progression is fast, so all I can truly hope to do Is make him as comfortable as I can. She estimates, based on the above, and physical condition that we have a couple of weeks before the QOL decision will need to m be made. I cannot have him suffer, and all this makes me very sad. so.... he is resting after his visit today ( and note: LOL: in true Mannie fashion their floor was his LB: Urine AND poo - omg).

I thanks all of you who visited today, and are waiting to hear. I wish I had good news. I will get back to you all when I get home. Right now I need to clear the head, think some, so will visit my fav place to be, where I can do just that: off to the mountains....

I had so hoped for better news, Michelle. It would be best if Mannie's transition is gentle so he is not in distress. We are all thinking positively for some good -QOL weeks.
Let the mountains clear your head. And let your kitty lead the way. He is the only one who really knows how he feels and how he feels about how he feels.

I've typed about three or four different sentences and then deleted them, trying to come up with the right words, but I just can't seem to convey what I want to say. At any rate, I hope you're able to feel the love and support coming all the way from Florida.

Mannie will let you know how he is feeling, and for every day there is normalcy in Mannie Land, that's a good day and a day to be celebrated. (((Big Hugs)))

You know him best and how he looks and feels every day, and I know you don't want him to suffer and will do what's best for Mannie. Take it one day at a time and Mannie will let you know. We are all here for you and love you and Mannie.

P.S. Mags says good for Mannie for blessing the floor with his urine and poo.

I wish the news was better. I also am struggling to say the right words, even though I have just been through almost the same QOL decision with my sweet Cleo (GA). QOL is THE hardest thing to figure out. One day Cleo looked so pitiful and I knew that she didn't have QOL but the next day, she seemed fine. It is such an individual thing with each kitty. You know Mannie better than anyone, so you will know what is right when the time comes. Enjoy every minute right now and look for subtle signs. Cleo started sitting in places that were different from where she usually sat and also became very clingy. Her behavior was different.

I am praying for many more days with Mannie -- pain free and comfortable days.

I'll be thinking of you and Mannie, keeping you in my prayers. I'm glad Mannie's QOL is so important to you. The ultimate decision is going to be a beast, but Mannie will love you all the more for it. You'll know when. Until then, you can only do what you do best...love the hell out of him!!!

(((Michelle))) I am so sorry to hear the news, all I can do is just cry and try to hug you through the computer. It stinks it just started and going faster and faster. You are such a good mom to Mannie and every time you tell us about his purrs and nanner adventures and what-not, it makes it pretty darned clear he thinks you are a pretty great mommy, too. I am sure you will agonize about Mannie's QOL and hope each positive sign means much longer than he might really have, but you are so attuned to him and not in any kind of denial through all of this, that I'm sure you'll see what's happening day to day with Mannie and know when the time is right for both of you. Give Mannie lots of scratches and rubs for us, and tell him what a good boy he is, and how much Leo thinks he is the coolest cat on the planet. Leo loves his nanners and has them at both places. Thanks for sharing what Mannie loves. Many many hugs and prayers to you, Michelle.

THANK YOU EVERYONE for all the visits - so many res ponces! Mannie and I are ever so grateful! I brought him home after his appt, got him some fuds - LOL: he still loves the gravy! :lol: and let him find a comfy spot, and settle in. I headed on out to visit the mountings, knowing very well he needed some Mannie time and didn't need me hoovering over him. So we gave him lots of hugs and headed on my way. The mtns were gorgeous, good therapy for me. I will post the link in Mannie's condo tomorrow. POM shot went well, his appy was OK too, which was nice to see. It was MCV, but it is the fuds of choice these days. After dinner he and I went outside for a while so he could explore. it was pretty limited, as all he really wanted to do was lay in the grass, gets his sniffs (LOTS!). I just love it when I picked him up to come back inside he growled in protest, and also managed to bring half the yard in on his belly fur. :lol: It was a great time outside for him . :-D

Thank you Kathie, Patty, Carla, Georgia, Emily, Anne, Liz, Ann, Linda, Amy, Jill, Courtney, Josie, Ella, Melissa, Cathy, Lisa and Barb for visiting, and especially for caring. You guys are the best! What a wonderful LL family we have. Hugs to everyone! I cannot thank you enough for your kind words. They mean the world to Mannie and I. We are taking this one day at a time, and doing the best we can for him. Meds will continue, and he will see the IM vet next week on Monday to recheck all levels.

Ella - I so agree. a gentle transition - out with quiet dignity and grace. we will do all we can to make what is left the best it can be for him. I believe he is ok with that, he always has accreted what is, and kept on truckin'! And you are so right: it will be his call, he will lead the way.

Michelle, glad you got out to the mountains, and Mannie got some rest in the afternoon and outside yard patrol, too. Look forward to the beautiful pics tomorrow. So funny with the growling and not wanting to go back inside. Nice with the appy, too.

Hi ANn - me too. It was gorgeous up there, worth the drive and the time spent. Mannie just slept, recovered. It was the best option for him. Ye onMannie adn teh outdoors: that growl cracked me up. He so wanted to stay out. :lol: :cool:

aaah Michelle, I am so sorry about the report. as I wrote to Aseel, whether it is 16 days, 16 weeks or 16 years it is never enough time with our furry loves. I wish this was an April fools joke, but sadly I know it isn't. What is important is that as long as Mannie is happy, content, shows an interest in life and this nanners, then all is good in Mannieland.

Guess we just take this day by day and hope that Mannie has more good than bad. and I think tomorrow he deserves a strip of bacon all his own. what do you think....

I spent the day in the bean's bed! I even got breffis in bed and all I had to do was meow in order to get served! :-D I know it's late, but if you want to come over, you can join me in bed and we can share a late night snack while we listen to animal sounds on the tv thingie....and you don't have to worry about getting in bed, I have special stairs now to make it easy to climbinto bed without having to jump and miss!

If you come over, we can get that vetty smell off you and make a prezzie for your bean to cheer her up, I heard she is very sad and that's not good.

Hi Hillary - many many thanks! and I know.. it is never long bough, just as you said. SO we make the best of what we have. He's content tonight. got his bed, his nanners, some pets, and some time outdoors, now he's off to bed. Life was indeed normal, and good, today. YES-SIR-REE - bacon for the nanner king tomorrow. why the heck not! :-D

Maui - you are on!! I LIKES it! I be rights over as soon as I can find my glasses.... TV sounds awesome - I likes them animal shows, the ones with the big cats, cuz we is just as cool as they are. It would be so cool to make my bean a prezzie - she's like that . She worries too much - I keep telling her all is good. so we make her something cool! OMG... he does love that stuff, so why not a bite or two... :-D :cool: :cool: I will have to make sure he gets out as often as I can get him there. He was just so relaxed out in his yard. It had to have felt good. The growl at coming in said it all. ;-) oh yes on the mtns - outstanding!! I was glad I went.

I am sorry to be so late to read this news. I am also sorry you did not get the news you and everyone hoped for. But I know you will make the best decision for Mannie as you have all along. Sending you prayers for strength and just sending Mannie vines that every day will be the best.
 
This is not the day for tears. As much as we all wished for the best for all our furry babies on LL, we all know the law of life determine the time that they can be freed from all that burden of that fragile failing bodies.
Buddist treats life as a journey. We all met for some reason & we will meet again & again, whether human or pets are the same. We all have our own circle.
You & Mannie have strong spirit, Michelle. Enjoy every monent together. My thoughts are with you.

Good luck w/ the NV. I had a lot of trouble getting Tess to eat and gain weight before I tried it. She loves all the flavors.
 
Hi Ann - Yupp, me too on all. And yes - you have hit it on the head: Mannie is Mannie. He will do things his way. I can't anything more from him. It will be what it is, and w will support him the best way we can. Loved the mtns yesterday - so nice, and a good decompression for me. It was a given on Mannie and the yard. That was nice. THX on the NV - i will look this weekend.
