So I got her back and sides shaved. It's not even, but it's done. Today going to try the underside. I am not a groomer by any means. She looks good though. Skin is dry, no imperfections, sores or anything. Still some stuff tail yet, have to do some trimming there. Here's a WIP photo.

Chewy arrived with new food. Weruva chicken frick a zee in time for her meal.

Thought it said pate but it's finely shredded although more pate than tiki food. Olive ate it right down. Tux and PJ tasted and walked away.
 
My Kitty Alice has short fur but gets very matted. I'm thinking of using my clippers on her matts. She's a bit wild & I don't know how she'll react to the buzzing the clippers make.

How do you hold onto Olive as you clip?

In short answer any way I can. For her back when she is sitting I put one hand on the shoulders to keep her down. If she flips over, I put a hand on the upper part to hold her down and do a quick zip with the shaver. Her tail base is the hardest because it hurts her. She tries to run constanly. I put my arm in front of her, almost headlock style but it's a lot of short zips when I can get her. Today my hubby held her up, so back feet touched the ottoman and held up so I got most of belly, chest pretty good. She didn't fuss to much. Getting armpits is a real struggle. Laid her down an lift a leg but she gets you with other, she tries to roll away. Her butt is really hard. I guess it really hurts her, she will sink her teeth right into you. Still have some trimming up in spots but mostly done now. Not the coolest look but she is in grunge style. Lol. Hubby isn't much help. Doesn't hold tight enough and afraid of hurting her and "she's mad stop and try later" . She would never get done if we did that.
 
You did a great job !! She looks so cute like that !! Good thing she likes Weruva chicken frick a zee, good food and low carb. Ti-Mousse likes it but my 2 others don't...
 
Great job Paula!!! She looks so cute and cuddly with her her new summer grunge hairdo!!! Chicken frick a zee is one of the low phos ones I feed Leo. I also picked up a couple of "Fowl balls" and he seems to like it as well.
 
Looks great, wish we could do that with Willow, she gets so stressed...peed when we trimmed her nails last time :( She is matting and I'm just randomly cutting bits off when I can, she looks like patchwork lol

Just hope she continues to eat it. And low phos. Want to prevent/protect kidneys.

I know that look too. Her nails are really hard for me to do. They are so thick. The scissor type clippers can't fit in them. The big guillotine ones make it hard to see the nail. I'm thinking of trying the ones that light up and catch the clipping. Always have the vet do them on every visit though.
 
All day today I trimmed every chance I got while she was sleeping. And the only time she fussed was when I get to close to her butt. Still have some shaggy spots to get.

She seemed to like it. She was grooming spots she hasn't been able to.

Does that one have a lot of fish? For some reason I crossed it off my list.

3 carbs is fine for me. The regular they've been getting for last year is 3 carb.

She is precious! :) Not bad for not being a pro :)
