3rd day off the juice. I'm thinking he may have reflux??

Of so possible hypo episode lase Wednesday or Thursday? Vet trip., Blood work, everything came back ok but white blood cells were very slightly elevated. Dr gave him antibiotics to be on the safe side. He had This weird thing going on. Almost like dry heaving. I started home testing saturday, his levels were low and have been since then (very shortened story) we thought the antibiotic may have been messing with his tummy do Dr advised to just stop them earlier today. When he wakes up from a nap he will sometimes gag or dry heave. Sometimes he throws up a tad. You can tell something is just a little off. Sometimes he'll make a funny noise or set with his mouth open just a teeny bit, licks his mouth and swallows often. Does that sound like he's got some acid reflux going on maybe? When he eats it seems to help some with the symptoms. Are there home treatments for that or something I can try here or should I just drag him back to the Dr again? This poor guy has been through so much this week, I just want him to feel better and enjoy his time off shots no matter how long or short it may be.

If his levels have been low since the antibiotics and his white blood cells are elevated that would suggest to me that he has an infection that is causing his bg to be elevated (although it is still very well within the normal range). Are his teeth OK? Does he need a clean or extraction? What were the antibiotics? They can often make a cat feel nauseous (especially Clavamox). Could have acid reflux - small frequent meals should help. Also could be a hairball?

His white blood cells were only very slightly elevated. Everything else on the blood panel was fine and all within normal ranges. He had the dry heave episodes the day we took him to the vet when he dropped too low (2 trips in one day to see the vet, first was too low bs 2nd was cause he threw up and was dry heaving and couldn't keep anything down) vet gave him the antibiotics as a just in case thing. It was amoxicillin. Dr checked his teeth 2ish months ago when he was first diagnosed. He didn't mention any problems. He just acts slightly uncomfortable sometimes when the symptoms are showing. Sort of like a person would seem with heartburn. Doesent seem like the typical hairball issues. I'll make sure he eats more often tomorrow to see if that helps.

But I have a wide cereal bowl that I put the food in, and then that bowl sits on top of a narrower tall rice bowl that accomplishes the same thing for free. You can use anything for your base that the top bowl can nestle in/on-- cool whip container, tupperware, etc. Or even just set the food bowl on a stack of books to raise it so that his mouth isn't so far below his throat.

How is Biscuit feeling today? I have a cat (a civvie) who has reflux due to early stages of kidney failure. She would lick her lips and drool. She also vomited because of it. It made her so miserable and unhappy! As per my doctor's instructions, I started giving her half of a 10 mg Pepcid AC, once in the morning and again at night--at least 20 minutes before eating. It works like a charm! Pepcid is the brand name for the active ingredient famotidine. Pepcid is a little costly, but buying famotidine is a lot cheaper. Next time, I'll know better. I really hope that Biscuit is feeling better.
