I currently have my daughter and her family living with me as she lost her job and her place, so her little kitty (Pumpkin) is now visiting. In order to keep things separate, I keep Kitty Boo upstairs with me in my room and have his litter box and food in my bathroom. When I get up, I take kitty boo's BS and feed him and come downstairs while he is eating and feed pumpkin. Then I go back upstairs as kitty boo has finished eating and let him come downstairs, by this time pumpkin has finished his friskies pate'..(same as kitty boo) and his dry food that is there for him overnight is put away for the day. What happened that morning is Tom got up early to take the boys fishing, and didn't see kitty boo had gotten out and of course, he went down and ate pumpkin's dry food. To say the least I was quite upset! I have all the cats now on the friskies pate'. A little expensive, but that way no dry food is down anywhere!
I am giving kitty boo 1 unit, but how consistent? Well it is really hard to get it to that first marker on those syringes. It was much easier using the pen needle to dial up one unit. But they told me to use a syringe..not sure why, but I am using a syringe and it is very hard to get it on that 1 unit marker.
Kitty boo is hungry all the time!! I feed him a 1/4 can usually around 6 or 7...then I go back to bed because if I don't feed him something, he starts hacking and vomiting...this morning it was 7 and his BS was 298...then I get up around 9:30 to 10:00 usually (this morning I stayed up) and I give him another 1/2 can of friskies pate' and his shot of 1 unit. Then he is usually ok until around 5..which I give him the remainder of the can...at night, I do his BS and shot around 10: pm give or take 1/2 hour and feed him another 1/2 can or so. He is getting an average of 1 1/2 can of the friskies pate'.
I hope this helps.
