300 AM Test - Dosage Advice Needed

Hello everyone,

Sadly we are back! Felix went OTJ twice before and now we are back. Just tested him and he is at 300. We are still using Lantus. Not sure how much to give. Any experts out there this AM that can help me?

I searched on the forum and found that 2U is what has been given for the 300 range. So that is what I gave.

Um... Lantus is not dosed based on preshot numbers. You should be shooting a consistent dose every 12 hrs and adjustments to the dose should be made based on the nadir (lowest point of the cycle).

Even if you don't choose to do TR, Lantus has a long duration and carryover. Consistent dosing has much better results with less bouncing around.

also, how old is the lantus you have? you may need new if it is too old.
we always start with .5 or 1u and keep that dose for 6 or so doses, sometimes longer, and testing nadir to see what this dose does and then increase by .25 if needed
