Took Tyler out to the bottom of the garden after tests, injection , his breakfast as usual and he elected to have a wobbly walk around the house and section which is a good thing to see.
Unfortunately for the rest of the day it does seem that he really cannot control his rear back leg and perhaps even his left leg to some extent. It just collapses beneath him and I have seen him dragging himself by his front paws rather than stand up to take a couple of steps. He does seem to be walking on his toes though when he does walk. Not a planter gait.
My note to myself is that this is a steep decline in his mobility. At the end of August his mobility was perfectly fine . Enough fos us to board him for a few days at a cattery without worry.
Dropped the stool sample into the vet clinic this morning. It was quite reasonably formed so was hopeful it was something that passed through his system and the out again. Sadly though this afternoon has seen the return of the diarrhea.
Tyler has only been given the poached chicken with some pumpkin for quite a while now. Also the boulardii and the SEB. He had the last peptosyl dose on Sunday which may have been the only thing holding this at bay over the long holiday weekend.
Vet and staff both in a flux of changeover this morning so will await the stool result and then we will schedule a two way talk between us and the vet , sans Tyler, to explore all options .
What I do know is that this cannot remain as it is. It is not fair to him & at some point he will stumble and could break a bone.
