Still fine tuning the feeding - lowering amount and splitting into correct portions to get lower BG readings AM & PM.

I would test again in 2 to 3 hours and see if Errol brings that number down if you are worried about it. It could just be a blip.

Thanks Carla, that's exactly what I was thinking :smile: I think it might be the food I gave him at 19h00, I mix a little tinned food with his semi-raw meat diet & it might just be the jelly in it. If so, he's very sensitive diet-wise and I'm going to have to withhold the tinned food altogether to prevent this. One good thing is, my other 2 cats are getting closer and closer to eating wet food voluntarily now as I'm leaving little bits around for them at midday and today they ate it all :smile:
 
So I tested Errol again now (+3) PMBG and he is down to 54. Anyone have an idea about the fluctuation in numbers as this seems like quite a drop?
I don't know - does it prove that the semi-raw diet is far lower carb and therefore better for Errol than even a little canned food..?
 
Looks to me like the PM test was either a bad strip or meter blip, but probably not an accurate test number :smile: . If you get a wonky test like that again, I would do a retest.
 
Could well be, because I didn't think that I had as much blood as usual :smile: Some days I just can't get blood and have to try a few times. Unfortunately the Contour TS glucometer takes 0.6m/litres blood which is more than I can get sometimes & I have to try again. I believe some of the other models take much less. Don't have access to them here though.

Oh, and after dinner last night Errol was more playful than he's been for a very long time, while not actually running after the wand he was certainly more interactive with it :lol: I'll get that lazy kitty running around after it one of these days!
