Hi everybody. The roller coaster ride continues here in Tori Land. Last night after I posted Tori actually went and stole her some of her brother's dinner. She actually pushed Rocky away to get to the dish. She ate the FF they had with gusto and then ate a little bit more of what I had put on her plate. She paid for it dearly though. Her poor tummy just can't take in very much at a time I guess. She looked so uncomfortable starting about a 1/2 hour after she ate. I felt so sorry for her. She had her Bupe and fluids before I went to work. I don't know what she ate during the night. Daniel wasn't home and Heather just put the food out and never bothered to check how she did. SHe won't check her sugars. She used to but refuses to now.

THis morning she still was feeling kind of punky. I decided to add a tad bit more to her dose to a fat 1.5. She ate a bit but not as good as last night. Mind you that might not be a bad thing since she felt so bad afterwards. She wouldn't touch the FF this morning but would take some MediCal Recovery (the vet gave me that for if I try and syringe feed her) with some shredded chicken and freeze dried shrimp treats on top. She had her Bupe and !00cc fluids. This afternoon she seems to be feeling a little bit better. She ate some of the FF that she flatly refused this morning. I gave her her Pepcid and Cept just know at +11 so hopefully she'll feel like eating a good supper.

I guess this is just going to take time. The Pancreatitis and the Salmonella combined must really make a little kitty feel like crap. She's trying though. She's quite bright this evening. I guess I just have to be patient. I'm not good at being patient. SO please keep my baby in your prayers.

Still no word on when they are going to start working on my bathrooms. Will have to call the contractor or insurance agent tomorrow to see what's going on.

We called the Connective Tissue Disorder Clinic in Calgary and told them how the Nephrologist wants a rush on my son's MRI so he can do the kidney biopsy but they haven't called back yet. SO frustrating. Will have try them again tomorrow . By the way the problem they think that Daniel has with his kidneys is Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis or FSGS. You can Google it if you're interested.

That's it for now. I'm going to go and feed Ayanna and then see how Tori is going to eat for me. Wish us luck. Will post after again in a bit. At least I don't have to work tonight so I can take things easy and actually catch up a bit. Have a good evening everybody.

Re: 3/9 Tori AMPS 247; +7~228; +11~167

Hi Barb - It is good I think that Tori wanted to eat on her own - probably overdid it I'm guessing? At least the interest was there. Looks like it will just take time - baby steps like you said yesterday. I am glad that things are improving. How hard all this must be for you too.

I hope things get moving for Daniel - I am sorry that it all moves so slowly. I sometimes can't believe how the medical community functions - it is not any better here. I did google that - and got lost in the first paragraph. I guess you will have to play advocate again to help move things along. isn't it "funny" how the patient has to be the one. I wish you guys the best of luck.

Hi Tori - hope you are feeling better today. My bean says you were eating. I am so happy! I thought maybe we would come and see you again tonight if that is OK. You want more soup? or maybe just the massage oils and stuff. See you soon~~ Mannie

so, in everything that i read regarding FSGS...it seems that the prognosis is really good with treatment...
is that the conclusion you reached, or am i oversimplifying it?
(not to put you to extra effort answering...i just was really encouraged for Daniel with what i read...)

wonderful that Tori is interested in food, barb...and really glad you have the night off...

prayers and healing energy coming your way!

Well she stayed the same from +11 to PMPS . Blue is nice to see fr a change. She;s been slowly working on her supper. SHe takes a few bites and then waits about 5 minutes and then I go over and move the dish and she takes a couple more bites and so on and so forth. If she finishes what she has on her plate she will have eaten 1 TBSP of the Recovery about 5 freeze dried shrimp treats and about 1/2 tsp shredded chicken. It's just so hard to watch her. I'm going to give her her Bupe in a few minutes and then at 10 I'll give her fluids.

Tori is really looking forward to the KTSS visit tonight. She said the massage she got last night was the greatest and you know I swear I smelled the faint scent of lavender when I got home. She loves the chicken soup too. She says it soothes her tummy.

I'm really looking forward to sleeping in my own little bed tonight.I'm so tired. The last couple of weeks have been so stressful.

Have a good night everybody.

Tori will love that Celi.

Actually did I ever mention that my Rocky gives me back rubs sometimes. He loves to sleep right beside me with his head on the pillow. He loves to knead and when I lie on my side he will start kneading my back and he will go from one side to the other kneading and up and down covering all of it. He purrs the whole time and it is absolutely wonderful.

Nice PMPS for Tori! I hope the massage does wonders for her. Slow down on the eating, girlie cat. :) I hope the docs find a good treatment for your son, Barb. Positive thoughts coming your way!

I made some fresh chicken soup tonite & saved some for Tori--No Really!!--
Lots of healthy stuff, I will send Moonie up with some tomorrow--Eating is encouraging, keep it up Tori--
Prayers that all your problems will be getting fixed by Friday!! Big Hugs from us!

Well the fluids have been given and right now my two sweetest girls are sleeping together. Every night when Ayanna goes to bed she has to tell Tori a bedtime story. Tori always listens so intently and then they fall asleep arms and paws wrapped around each other. They love each other so much. I will leave them like that until I wake TOri up to test her around +4 and see if I can get her to eat some more.

I am so glad to see Tori interested in food. I have been there- eat too much at once and feel bad later! Baby steps is right.

I wish my kitties gave back rubs like yours, Barb! And the part about Tori and Ayanna sleeping together... so sweet.

Keep up the good work with Tori, and I will send Chaos over with the KTSS next time. He does a great paw and scalp massage!

Hi Barb & Tori, I'm reading this the following morning, so I hope that you are having a good sleep and that Tori is continuing to eat little meals and to feel better. It's very sweet that Tori and Ayanna have such a close bond. Rusty will be over tonight with the KTSS and is already cooking up some chicken soup. He sends his love.

Many hugs and healing thoughts for a good day today,

Ella & Rusty
