Good Morning, Everyone,,

Rusty is still up there with his bgs. And this morning's shot was an "ouchie" and maybe partial fur. Murphy's law! I woke up early this morning to hear him breathing noisily, but he seems fine now. We all went btb after getting up 45 minutes earlier than our norm (in preparation for DST). Rusty had a good breakfast and has eaten first and most of second sitting. At +2 I made him a dish of "lung treat" (Allerplex mixed with a little Beechnut turkey babyfood and water). He ignored it at first, so I offered him some on my finger (as I do with his afternoon "hairball treat") and he licked it, came back for more, and finished it all. Good boy! Then he wanted to go outside into the brilliant sunshine, but didn't stay out long because it is still cold (in the 30s; it was 12 degrees early this morning). We played a little game of "tube ball".

We are off now to the post office. Edward is baking a Hungarian potato bread for a Feb. and March birthdays and anniversaries potluck our little group is having tomorrow evening.

bbl,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 3/9 Rusty AMPS 248

Hi Ella. Glad that Rusty's breathing is a bit better now. I hope his medication clears his problem.

I don't envy you the real cold weather. Edwards Hungarian Potato Bread sounds real good.

Have a great day.

Re: 3/9 Rusty AMPS 248

What a good boy eating his "lung treat". I hope he comes down from those mid yellows, and I hope he's feeling good. I'm a bit out of the loop lately, sorry.

Re: 3/9 Rusty AMPS 248, +6 66

Wow on the 66 at +6 (Saints preserve us!!). I guess it wasn't a fur shot this morning! Rusty was hungry for lunch, having eaten the rest of his breakfast while we were walking to the post office. We had a good combing and he's munching away.
bbl,

Okay, I got that from my 10 yo DGD,...but it applies here

I'm glad to hear, he takes his med, for you.....what a good boy

Hi Ella....what a fantastic surprise from Rusty!

Have a wonderful day. :-D

Re: 3/9 Rusty AMPS 248, +6 66

Hi Ella, glad to hear the noisy breathing went away and the he is eating his lung treats. Beautiful nadir, too! Hope Rusty surfs safely for you

Well, Rusty, no need to be so dramatic about your lagoon entry. Good to see you there, in any case. And you are such a good boy, eating your lung meds. Paws crossed they do their thing. OT: I'm going skiing tomorrow morning. Then it's going to be in the 50s next week. :-x

Re: 3/9 Rusty AMPS 248, +6 66, +8.5 120

It sounds like the Allerplex is helping. I'm glad he is eating it for you. Hopefully Rusty will keep having nice BGs.

Re: 3/9 Rusty AMPS 248, +6 66, +8.5 120

It looks like Rusty may have thought the weather was cold but not cold enough to prevent a swim in the lagoon.

Re: 3/9 Rusty AMPS 248, +6 66, +8.5 120, PMPS 258

Hi again,
The swim in the lagoon didn't last too long! It was a pretty small blood drop, so perhaps the reading wasn't accurate (I didn't do a re-take because he didn't want to come up to his testing spot and I was testing him on the floor). In any event, he decided to bounce up again for PMPS. But he had a really good day. He played, he schmoozed, he had great appetite, he went outdoors briefly, he enjoyed his combings, he spent time in his cube (which he hasn't done in quite a while), he actually enjoyed having me vacuum around his "space". We now have a nice clean, almost-dust-free house. His breathing has sounded good all day after that scary nighttime episode of noisy breathing.

I know that I am going to have to make some adjustments in his insulin dose after the Allerplex is in play for a longer period. I had thought about upping his dose by a drop this evening to even out his cycles once again, but I don't want to do it during a bounce. We'll have to play it by ear. Allerplex has two principal ingredients that are supposed to lower blood sugar. Perhaps the 66 today was an instance of that, but it didn't last very long. I would really like to see Rusty back in his former nice, even cycles.

bbl,

Ella & Rusty

Don't forget to set the clocks ahead tonight!!

Re: 3/9 Rusty AMPS 248, +6 66, +8.5 120, PMPS 258

What a great day, plus a little dip (plunge?) in to the lagoon.
I hope his breathing continues to be worry-free.

Have a good night!

Re: 3/9 Rusty AMPS 248, +6 66, +8.5 120, PMPS 258

Hi Ella, sounds like a good day and the "lung "treatment" is helping. I see the LagoonMeister was back to supervising the kitties, too. Maybe the PMPS was a misreading with the small drop of blood. I'm sure Rusty will get back on track. You were smart getting that extra sleep this morning. Have a good night.

Re: 3/9 Rusty AMPS 248, +6 66, +8.5 120, PMPS 258

Guess you'll know if the allerplex is responsible for the low if it starts repeating....
Hope his breathing keeps improving. "lung treat" for some reason gives me images of lutefisk.

And potato bread is always good.

Higher and higher. I guess this is a bounce. We are not used to seeing bounces like we have recently.

Rusty is eager to get to bed. He had a good day, despite the weird string of numbers.

Thanks for visiting,

Ella & Rusty
