I've started trying that since you suggested it the other day, but I'm still working out how much can be given at each time without making her vomit, so i wound up the day before yesterday doing a small portion once an hour through +5 (since her nadirs have been all over the place). Yesterday I lost track of time so it was more like +1.5 instead of +1 for the first follow-up snack because she threw everything up from the first meal 20 minutes after eating and she usualy needs at least an hour after vomiting before she can hold anything down. I've noticed that she frequently has a big drop after vomiting (like that unusual dip at the end a few days back). I scaled back from doing a tablespoon at a time for the follow-up snacks to doing more like a teaspoon after she threw up breakfast yesterday. it's a but of a catch-22... if the meal is too big and she bolts it, she'll probably throw up, but if it's too small to sate her, then she'll get anxious about wanting more and will be even more likely to bolt it as soon as it comes out. Yeterday she and on of the civvies started crawling around on me wanting me to get up about an hour and a half earlier than usual, so I'm guessing that by the time breakfast came around she was probably leaning more toward the likelihood to eat too fast. Pre-diabetes, I would have just fed them at 3:45 am if they were acting like that, but now I've been not doing so, in order to get an accurate AMPS at +12. I've been gradually shifting earlier to prepare for daylight saving time, but I'm going to keep shiting an extra hour so AMPS will be at 5am instead of 6-ish. If they're super antsy before the scheduled breakfast/shot time, I'll start experimenting with feeding a little earlier to calm them down and the AMPS just won't be fasting.
