Yesterday's Lagoonfest

Green used to be my least favorite color. In racing it's considered to be unlucky. Funny how my thoughts have changed over the past few years!!! LOVE that green yesterday!!! :D Cinco is playing on the beach right now, but judging by recent patterns, he could decide to wade in at any time. As usual, he's under orders to stay on shore until at least +5 tonight, but we all know how well he listens. Cinco, you are blind, not deaf!

Minka finally ate last night, but not as well as I'd like. This morning, even after tummy meds, she had no interest in food, so out came the Mirtz. When I last saw her she was nibbling on the first breakfast offering she had earlier ignored. I got the pill pretty close to 1/8 tablet this time, so we'll see if there's a difference between that and the slightly bigger crumb she's been getting. I really dislike how agitated it makes her.

Sasha ate really well yesterday evening - even had a large late night snack. She's like me, I guess. Mornings are not her thing. She eventually ate most of her breakfast this morning, so no Mirtz for her.

Harvey is being Harvey. Cat sack and pilling completed with no blood lost. I really wish he'd go back to liking pill pockets! :blackeye:

I texted back and forth with both nephews and my sister this morning. No new news about DSIL, but I now know that both she and DB had bad colds. His was getting better and hers got worse. Then she started throwing up. She has a rare autoimmune disease and any illness is always worse for her. When she gets sick she has to stop taking her biologic, and then she's dealing with the illness AND her disease. She's still getting fluids and my brother has promised to e-mail an update this afternoon. I hate living so far away from my family. I feel like I'm always out of the loop. :( Thanks for all the vines and prayers. Please keep them coming.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Tess (Ann & John), Billie (Deanna), Skooter (Molly), and Pixie (Deborah's DS' kitty). :bighug:Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Lisa's DF, Chris' DM, Marje's DM and Elise's DM.

Nicely done Cinco! He must have liked the Lagoon yesterday.:D:D

You actually posted before us today. I know how busy you are in the mornings w/ 4 to medicate, my hands are full w/ only 2!

Sending vines for DSIL. I hope she conquers her cold and things get back to normal soon.

Nice blues for Cinco today. Maybe he'll be a good kitty and wait until you get home tonight before he heads to the lagoon. I hope the mirtz helps Minka. Sending prayers for your DSIL. :bighug::bighug:

Cinco, dabble in the Lagoon's shallows, hang out on shore. Both just fine tonight 'til the pretzel lady gets home. Then, kid, whatever trips your fancy.

I didn't know that about green and racing. Explains a lot about the Go Daddy lady.

Eating vines to Minka. And to Sasha, especially in the morning.

Harvey, you're a stinker but I think your mamabean has your number!

Lots of light for your DSIL continues.

Marilyn and Polly

Cinco please let your mom have her treats tonight, she gives you so many so it's only fair...

More vines for DSIL it is so much worse when you can't just pop around and check in yourself :(

Thanks for visiting, Ann, Carla, Marilyn and Serryn.

Cinco hinted to me that he was going to take a moonlight swim, so I loaded Otto with 8% and crossed my fingers. Sure enough, he was up to his belly when we got home and Otto was spotless! :D Don't know if he went lower while we were gone, and I don't think I want to know. Now I need him to be good tomorrow while I'm at UCD with Minka, since DH has to go into Sacramento for work. Guess Otto will get another workout.

Minka ate tonight, but not with the enthusiasm that Mirtz usually induces. I guess she needed that extra 1/16 of a tablet. Argh.

My DB sent the promised e-mail. Apparently my DSIL had been ill for two weeks, so without her biologic and her disease made it difficult for her to get around. He thought she was getting better the other day, as she was able to get herself to the bathroom, using a walker, for the first time in those two weeks. Then she started throwing up and couldn't keep anything down. Soon she was weak and disoriented, so he called 911. He went to see her this morning and they had her in a chair. She was talking and "chipper" in his words. She was happy with the staff there. They soon put her back to bed and he said she fell right to sleep, so she's still pretty burned out. They ran a battery of tests and said she has some kind of infection, either in her blood or bones. She'll be there for about a week, he thinks, but he's much relieved at how much better she looks already. So am I. Please keep the vines and prayers coming.

about your Danica comment. I never understood why some teams spit in the face of superstition when racers are traditionally very superstitious. I think they need to try giving her a car without a speck of green on it and see if she does better! I know my driver had better luck when he stopped driving a green car regularly. But I'm not really superstitious (anti-jinx).
