ARGH I knew Alex would confused_cat but I didn't think it was gonna be this hard this time . I am

Maybe this time it won't last long. <sigh>
Aside from that, Alex is fine this morning. He was hungry as a horse for his breffis and followed me around (trailed me) until he got it. Had his usual 2 bowls of ff beef(my boys are beef men), and now he is off quietly snoozing. While I do think it's a little bit too soon to be optimistic, I am feeling a little less desperation from Alex in his food attitude(that rhymed). He still wants it a lot...but I didn't feel like his head was going to spin off of his shoulders this morning either by itself or from me knocking it off cause he was driving me crazy. (not literally ASPCA)
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Course I could be totally wrong :)

Good Morning LL :-D

yesterday

Re: 3/9 Alex AMPS 464

I figured by your late post that you were not happy so I took a peek at his SS. Hang in there, he'll get the hang of this thing. We drove him low so it's just another rebound closer to him not doing it anymore in my eyes. Great WCR.. if you think you see something, you are probably seeing it.. that's the way it works with cats LOL Go with your gut. When the rebound clears, we will see what this dose does for him as far as flattening out his cycles. :)

Morning Carolyn :)

No, my late post didn't mean that ....I got caught up in balancing my checkbook online and trying to figure out why there was a 168.00 discrepancy lol! I figured it out. The 'cable guy' is coming again at 11 so I wanted everything out of the way.

I'm not thrilled but I expected it(well I was hoping for pink ,okay yellow esp when i woke up at 430AM and I got a 148 reading). I just really really liked the blue and green yesterday. Actually I was concerned last night about decreasing the dose so fast because I didn't understand that since Alex can be low one night then not do that again for a week...he didn't go under 50?

Re: 3/9 Alex AMPS 464

Damn that's a major discrepancy LOL

We all saw the same thing: Had you not intervened with the Karo and HC when you did, he would have gone well under 50, and very early in cycle on the 2nd cycle of a dose increase.. after low activity on the first cycle of the same dose increase.. that means the previous dose was good and the activity on the first cycle was due to the previous dose. His numbers are starting to swing and we don't want that, so we had to drop the dose or he'll never graduate from LTS because you'd be intervening EVERY cycle.

It also means that Alex is responding to his dosecreases rather slowly which means that we can not increase him every 6 cycles anymore.. and it might mean there's a second dosecrease coming. ;-)

Yeah it sure is. The company I worked for is rush rush rush send the check in for cobra so we have it by MARCH 1st, yet they aren't considerate enough to cash it and are screwing up my checkbook (another case of hurry up and wait) grrrrrr

So you think Alex may start responding to the 5.25 as well now? :?

Re: 3/9 Alex AMPS 464,+3~382

you balance your checkbook!!!!

wow that is more than I do! I just look at the online activity and if it looks recognizable I think ok - it's fine. I don't do much more than that..... :o

Nice drift down.. rebound is clearing :)

Is that what this means? I don't like these numbers..I liked yesterday's colors sooo much better. angry(2)_cat <---me whining :-D
(been trying to catch Alex peeing but we keep missing each other. If I don't catch him by PMPS I'll do a blood test)

Re: 3/9 Alex PMPS 283,+2-61

Darn! Here we go again!
ETA: fed some HC and a little Karo @+2 set timer for 20 minutes
(my internet is wacky if anyone sees this and asks for an update and I don't answer don't worry
I keep losing my signal)

Hi... was working all day. You must be tired of the trampoline, I know. But I think those ranges are tighting up.

Sorry if I missed it, but how is the tap going?

Naw you didn't miss anything at all :)
It's hard to tell yet but It SEEMS as if Alex is a bit less desperate for food
although tonight I was shoving sugar down his throat...
I didn't expect tonight at all

Re: 3/9 Alex PMPS 283,+2-61,+2.5-58,+3-133

That's quite a drop. But up to 133 is a nice rise! Even if it is gravy induced.

From a distance (where I am) -- any cycle that doesn't have "HI" in it is a relief. I know it's rough when you're up close & personal.

It'll be red in the morning. I hate having to give Karo. And I thought it was (hoped it was) going to be
a nice quiet night cuz of the PMPS...I don't feel great tonight
really bad headache..blecchh
My poor l'il Alex must be spinning

Re: 3/9 Alex PMPS 283,+2-61,+2.5-58,+3-133,+4-273

My poor cat is now rising too fast from 2 teaspoons of hc and less than 1 tspn of Karo total. I never saw him rise so fast before :(

the fast drop between pmps and +2 combined with the karo has sent him zooming.
just a thought... instead of grabbing the karo right away, maybe try the hc first and than retest in 15-30 minutes (depending on how low he is) to see if the hc alone can bring him up enough. like i said, just a thought...

It's a good thought...I was just thinking the same thing. Maybe his new dose of tapezole is also starting to affect his insulin...another thing I was thinking

i forgot about the tap...
you could be right!

I dunno much about it but I think I remember my vet saying that as his thyroid starts to become more regulated
you may see a need for less insulin and that may be how you'll know tap is starting to kick in
among the other signs (ie not yowling for food;etc)

was just a thought cuz these last two nights have been so weird. We just increased the tap on Friday so it's kind of soon..but
I guess ya never know?

Re: 3/9 Alex PMPS 283,+2-61,+2.5-58,+3-133,+4-273

yeah, i have no idea how long it takes for the tap to kick in. we haven't had to go that route here yet, but with 4 kitties... hyper-t will probably pop up with at least one of them at some point.

I hope not, but it's pretty common I think. I was 'talking' to Jennifer "Tuckers Mom" and she has had 4 of them!(same family)but they weren't sugar cats. That's when it gets confusing ...:)

ni ni Jill..I'm exhausted after the last 2 nights!!!

And hey, you're getting lots and lots of action and while we don't like bounces, at least they aren't as terrible as before and he's managing himself through them nicely.

Now we have to manage you through it too! :-D

have a good day - I'll check in later.
