Hi everybody. Sorry I am so late posting again today. Much of the day has been spent doing Nanna type things like going to a Jack and the Beanstock play at Ayanna's school. With that and taking care of Tori and trying to get a couple of hours sleep the day wasn't long enough.
Well my baby girl has taken a small baby step today towards recovery. She actually went to her food dish today looking for food! When she ate it was still just a nibble or two on her own but at least the interest was there. SO far today she has eaten about 1/2 can of FF smothered with shredded chicken and some freeze dried chicken breast treats. I also have finger fed her another 1/4. So as I said she is making baby steps and every baby step counts. She seemed brighter today and cuddled in my arms for the longest time purring in my ear. Also she let me give her her fluids today without any help. She cooperated beautifully.
Dr Doug called this afternoon to check up on her. Sunday and Monday are his regular days off. He seemed very relieved that she is starting to do better. He told me "It just goes to show you can never count Tori out. Just when you think she's taken everything she can take and her back is against she fights back. She is an inspiration for all patients- kitties and people alike of how powerful the will to live is." He's very fond of my baby. THe plan is to let her take her time to recover and next week he'll call and see how she's doing and we'll decide about when to give her next chemo. You know it's funny. With the salmonella' septicemia and the Pancreatitis attack of the last couple of weeks it's like I almost forgot she has cancer as well. Weird.
So that's it for now I must run and give her her insulin and her supper. After that it will be time for me to have my shower to get ready for work and then give her her fluids and Buprenex before I leave. Think I've got enough time to do all that? Oh yes I should eat supper myself I guess. Thank God I'm off tomorrow. I really need to catch up with things here in LL.
So please keep my baby in your thoughts and prayers. We've still got a ways to go yet. Do you think that the KTSS could pay her another visit tonight while I'm at work? SHe so loves those visits and they work wonders making her feel better and giving her the strength to keep on fighting.
I must run. Will try and check in again before I go to work. As always my thoughts and prayers are with all of our sick kitties and their wonderful Beans and for those who are grieving especially. LOve you all.
