Yesterday's Condo

So, what is the deal with the rainbow SS yesterday? And the AMPS was totally unexpected today too! I tested and gave food an hour before I gave insulin this morning because I got off schedule this weekend and couldn't give insulin at the normal time (and he was waking everyone in the house up without his breakfast, so I fed). An hour after food, his blood sugar was only 197, so I left food out for +3 since I had to go to clinical. My sister tested him at +4 and it was 109! She assures me it was a perfect stick with lots and lots of blood. She gave two freeze-dried chicken pieces, and at +5.5 it was 179. At +7 he's at 189.

At Carolyn's suggestion, I increased to 6.5 last night to be aggressive in getting the numbers down. Since he's an acro, he gets special privileges, right? ;-)

Since he already ate twice this morning, he's not getting anymore food, so I'll get a +9 before I head out for a bit.

Hm.. we might be taking that increase right back off again soon at this rate lol.. what a pretty cycle!

Looks like one of your numbers might have been a bad reading yesterday. Also looks like he was working up to a break :)

EDIT: you shot R. I expect that is what caused the nuttiness. You often see a liver response to R at first and that could be the cause. For now it's a fluke. :)

So the high numbers yesterday AM after the single drop of R I gave are the result of the liver kicking in? Really? I had no idea it would cause that response. I measured very carefully and wasted a good 5 units of R measuring what a drop looked like! Geez. But that wouldn't be affecting today's cycle, right?
