Ole is seeing some nice sunny numbers this morning, which is great!

Though this is great news, my concern for Ole grows. He is despondent, still has diarrhea and visits the litter box frequently. He is definitely feeling poorly. It is our Saturday morning custom that after the AMPS, I go back to bed. Alex sits in the living room with coffee and newspaper and Ole cat in lap. Ole is always very affectionate with Alex, purring so loudly that sometimes I can hear him from the other room. This morning, Ole just laid flat on the floor with his chin on the floor, very hang dog like (He has been sleeping like this for a couple of days now). He doesn't seem to have a fever, his coat looks rough, and his eyes are foggier and dull. He
responds to only one thing, food. Yesterday, he didn't even want to go outside. I will be home all day with him. He just got a clean bill of health from Dr Miller, so I don't know what to do. I'm just trying to make him as comfortable as possible, and hope these nice BG's help him feel better.

I'll keep you posted on my poor little kitty. This is really hard.

I don't think I've met you yet - I'm Shelly. I just wanted to say that I'm so sorry you and Ole are struggling so much right now. I wish I had a magic cure for Ole or some excellent words of wisdom for you. I don't. However, I am sending out tons of thoughts and prayers for you and Ole. :YMHUG:

Awww Rebekah, sorry to hear that Ole is still out of sorts. :YMHUG: Those carb binges can really leave quite the hangover. Are you giving Ole anything for the diarrhea? He may be feeling dehydrated because of that. You can give a bit of plain unspiced pumpkin or squash. I buy baby food squash and give some to Neko. Actually both my cats will lap it up eagerly. Another thought is some probiotics - I've seen people use Renew Ultimate Critical Care. I've got some PetDopilus around and have used that. Plain old FortiFlora also works. And plain greek yogurt with probiotics is another option, if he can tolerate dairy.

It's always so hard on the beans when kitty isn't feeling well. More hugs to you.

i'm so sorry to hear Ole' is feeling so lousy after gorging on the cookies. that just plain sucks.

i can't tell from your posts if you're giving him anything to stop him up yet or not, but i definitely would try something. The probiotics that Wendy mentioned, or Fortiflora if you have it would both be good strategies to try. i couldn't get punkin to eat pumpkin - perhaps it was too close to cannablism for him. :lol: some cats will eat plain yogurt too.

don't beat yourself up about not having read up on the acro stuff before - it wouldn't have changed anything you were doing. we all were hoping for that magic 8u dose to work too.

glad to hear he's willing to eat still, though - as long as he's still eating ok, i don't think he's too sick. i wouldn't be at all surprised if the whole tin of cookies was responsible for this. i told my husband about it and he was also wondering how Ole' managed to get it open! you've got one smart kitty!

It's so hard when our fur babies don't feel good :sad: . I'm sending many, many more feel better vines to Ole! And for you . I hope you can find a probiotic to help the runs he is having, and that your day is going good. Chyna likes the pumpkin and bf squash, the plain yogurt, and the forti flora. Maybe she just likes to eat :lol: . Happy Caturday!
