3/8 Max AMPS 346 +3 277 +7 149

Glad to read on the SS that Max and you are doing better. :bighug:

You asked for comments on his spreadsheet. To me, it just looks like Max is a bouncy boy and likes the rainbow. I gave Neko the nickname Rainbow Queen after her SRT. Nothing much you can do about it. Max seems to be getting decent nadirs, just try to ignore the rest. I'm hoping that today, cycle 6 after those stretch of lower numbers on the 5th, will mean his bouncing slows down.

Thank you Wendy. I like that nickname the Rainbow Queen. I was studying his SS today looking at all of the colors but I’m so happy about it looking back from when we first joined FDMB when it was all red and black. If it hadn’t been for you I don’t believe we would have found out about his acromegaly as soon as we did. My vet of over 20 years didn’t suggest testing for it, even with the physical signs Max had, he was huge, heart enlarged, he had an underbite, diabetic and of course his IBD. I asked about acromegaly after you and Marje talked with me, but the vet still didn’t think we needed the test, so I changed vets who did test him for acro (but he didn’t do the IAA as I had asked) I also requested him be tested for pancreatitis. This vet also didn’t believe I needed the test because he said it was so rare. He came back positive for acro and pancreatitis. The vet had no idea how to take care of an acro cat so I asked for a referral to NCSU. Best thing I’ve done. Since then we have a new local vet whom I just love. She has taken care of 3 acro cats before Max and she’s very familiar with FDMB and thinks it’s a great resource. She has been very open to suggestions and works with me, not against me. Another member you had here some years ago had a cat with acro, recommended my vet to me. I met her on FB and she lives not far from me. Anyway long story, short…Max has come a long way. I will call him the Rainbow King and see how he likes that.:cat: Thank you for going over his SS with me. Those black numbers popping up after those greens just blew my mind. Thanks again for everything.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Lori! I'm so glad you are feeling better. I read your post last night and I just felt so sad for you. I could tell you were just exhausted and stressed out. Then I looked and saw the blacks. I wanted to say something but was in bed and soooo tired and falling asleep. This was not a good time to say anything (on my part, I mean). Make sure to take care of yourself or you won't be able to take care of Max. And you really have come a long way since the beginning! Sometimes we have to look back to the past because we get caught in the day to day slog and don't see much to be happy about!

Thank you and that is very true. I have had to reflect on everything the past couple of days to realize that I have so much to be thankful for. :)

He does like the rainbow! He's still spending quite a bit of time in good numbers, I think you should be happy for that and proud of yourself for getting and keeping him there :bighug:
Thanks Melissa. Yes I definitely am happy about where he is now and how far he’s come. I’m grateful for you helping me along the way as well.:bighug:
