Thought he was still bouncing @pmps+11 last night as he was higher, then @ amps he was 299 so I fed 1/2 can of steak frites which is 9%, I think? I can’t give him too much at the time because of his GI issues. Still had a huge drop @+2 of 130 points. This is why I have to test so often, how can I not? I wish I knew . Anyway I had to abort the cycle with some 12% @Wendy&Neko because I have an appointment to get to later this morning and can’t be trying to keep up with Max right now. Hopefully I can smooth over the damage later. He will bounce to Jupiter and back.:banghead: Hopefully it was the right thing to do.

Oh and he doesn’t eat much of the food when I use the auto feeder. He’s got such a big head and doesn’t like to stick his face in the bowl. He eats off of shallow cat dishes.

I'm back home and he's headed up.:banghead: Oh well it is what it is I guess. It will be a really really bad pmps, but at least no more testing until then.

You can always put have LC and half MC down to make a higher LC if the Steak Frites doesn't agree with him. Remember, what you are doing now is experimenting. There are no wrong moves, just data collection. :bighug: A mostly blue day is still a pretty good day. Long stretch under renal threshold.

For the autofeeder, can you fit little bowls in there to raise the eating surface? I found some sushi bowls that fit in mine. Bonus, it meant Neko wasn't eating off of plastic.

The steak frites doesn’t bother him as long as I feed him like a half of the small cans at the time. That’s any food with him though. His tummy is so sensitive and if he gets too full he’ll either vomit or get diarrhea later. He does fine otherwise so I can’t complain about that.

I must be so aggravating Wendy, you have to keep reminding me that I’m experimenting lol. I think it’s from years of having to be so cautious in the work that I used to do. So sorry, but thank you for being so patient with me.

That’s a great idea about the sushi bowls. I will look for some and see what I can do. I also wondered if I can find another feeder like his for a big dog. Lots of his things are for dogs because he’s so big, his bed, his carrier, etc. He’s not really fat big, he’s just a big cat. We call him the lion king.:cat: Thanks Wendy!

I know Marje found some really nice bowls too, but not ones we can get in Canada. I wouldn't be surprised to find there are dog feeders, maybe a medium dog size? Good idea.

Believe me, I understand multitasking. Finished my degree married, raising 3 small kids. I just have old habits of putting my own needs last when it comes to taking care of others, even the pets (we have a dog with medical needs too). The kids grew up, and the pets filled the empty nest. Now grandkids are added to the mix. I’m thankful for it all and love what I have with all my heart, just always looking for ways to do better. I’m hard on myself, type A personality, that’s just my nature. I am super thankful for the ideas and opinions I get from here. I’ve learned way more than I’ve ever wanted to know about acromegaly in cats for sure. I guess it’s just good to be here and feel like I’m not the only one going through all of this with a cat/cats. Everyone is very committed and does a wonderful job. Great people here to learn from. Thanks so much.

Another old habit is getting up early and getting on with the day, taking care of Max, the grandkids, etc. Wouldn’t change it for the world though.:)

I could have written this myself! Always had a hard time with the whole "put your own oxygen mask on first" as it's just not how I am. Downside is the burnout though, as I'm sure you know.

You and Max have come a long way. I know it's maddening when things can't be perfectly fine tuned, but today turned out pretty well!
