Hi LL, Is there a dental treat or dental toy that anyone can recommend? Thanks! K gets his teeth brushed every other day, but I was hoping there was something else out there that is diabetic safe.

K is doing well this morning... very, very, cuddly. He didn't have any asthma fits last night, but was pretty wheezy during the day (maybe that's why the higher blues?) Here's to hoping today is much greener.

I have one class left to teach and then it is Spring Break! YEAHHHHHHHHH!

Sorry, don't have any suggestions.
I just want to pop in and say hi, and that I'm impressed that Kismet allows teeth-brushing!

Hi Courtney. Sorry I can't offer any suggestions for a dental treat or toy but that is something I'd bet a lot of LL folks would be interested in. Nice blue AMPS for Kismet this morning.

Hi Josie --- thanks for stopping by. Maybe "allows me" is a bit generous... he cooperates, more or less :lol: He's never growled, hissed, or bit me, but he will put up a struggle every now and then.

Hi John --- thank you for dropping by our condo! I am going to talk to my vet and see what she recommends... there's got to be something, right?

I don't know about the treats either...but that is one sweet and relaxed kitty there!!! Nice start...sending easy breathing vines your way!

Commence Spring Break!!! party_cat A whole week off. Well, if you don't count all the grading, research, and writing I need to do :roll: But YAY!!! Maybe I can even convince DH to alternate morning TSF with me so we can both sleep in a little bit.

Kismet greeted me with a beautiful +5.25, so I guess whatever was in the air that was bothering him has gone away :mrgreen: Surf well, munchkie.

Hi Courtney, what a sweet video of Kismet. I heard his little purr motor. :-D Nice slide into green, too. I hope there's something the Vet can offer with the dental treats.

Hi guys,
Sorry not to know about dental "treats", but there must be something out there. Why don't you do a Google search? Kismet is lookin' good with that 61. Surf safe, Kismet! Glad to hear that his breathing got better over the course of the day. Weather certainly must play a role. Rusty had a good first day on Allerplex. I have no idea how long it will take to kick in. (Marje's kitty showed great improvement from one vet visit to the next, but I don't know how long that was.) Rusty's vet has never used it, so we are embarking on a grand experiment. The vet is supportive and curious.

Cute little cuddler this morning. :-D Nice :mrgreen: too.

Neko's dental treats are raw chicken necks (or raw chicken wing tips) and freeze dried quail necks. I give about one inch of raw chicken neck at a time a couple of times a week. Same for FD quail necks, see second from bottom of page. Raw bones are called natures toothbrush. The neck also has cartilage. For the squeamish, the freeze dried are much easier to serve, but harder to get and more expensive. Neko adores the neck pieces and her vet gave her teeth rave reviews on her last wellness exam.

Unfortunately, Greenies are HC. Another member would give her kitty chicken gizzards and hearts.

Josie, thank you!!! Boy does it feel good. Just got back from a girl's night out... the first time I've done anything social outside of school for weeks. DH stayed home on Kismet duty... really, really wonderful to go out and not worry about anything for a few hours. :-D

Hi Ella, thanks for stopping by! I do hope the Allerplex works for Rusy and am glad to hear he had a good first day. It's really wonderful that your vet is on board and supportive... we need more vets like that.

Hi Wendy, thanks so much for the tip! I think we will definitely give the quail/chicken necks a try. I am squeamish, but I'm all about saving a buck and I am sure he'd enjoy the fresh meat more.

Hi Sienne, thanks so much for the info! I am glad I checked before I ordered... I wonder why the diabetes website sells it if it's no good for diabetics? I think we're going to just stick with the tooth brushing and try the gizzards.
 
Lovely day! I also loved the video. What a big guy who def loves his mom....he even likes "tasting" you :lol: :lol:
