Yay! It's going up a bit. I can't give advice, but I really care. You've been through so much with Ducia in such a short time. My heart goes out to you. You're doing great!
 
No need to close the old thread, it will just hang out. You did perfect linking to the old thread. We try to start a new thread each day to keep them from getting too long. Looks like Ducia is coming back up which is good. I'd say that 115 is a much safer number then 65, and less stressful for the bean. I haven't followed Ducia's threads, but the low point for Lantus for most cats is around the +6 mark, so don't be surprised if she surfs along and slowly rises until pmps.

I would stick to the same 0.75 unit dose tonight. She's already started to zoom up. Those nice numbers today could also have been the influence of thee 1.0 unit depot. As long as you see even trace ketones, you want to keep as high a dose you safely can, and this looks good for now.

I want to keep the 0.75 dose for tonight. But the reading in the PM cycle are to be considered too.
Her+11 BG was 433. I think we will see more reds and pinks tonight. It makes me constantly worry about her highs and how damaging they are in her post DKA condition.

I think that I will. I am just so confused about her numbers right now. I want to keep one dose for some time and see if I can get some patterns in her reactions. Today she went down from red to green and by +11 up in the reds again.:confused:

That is understandable Remember, greens are good above 50 and you need to regard when in the cycle those lower greens are occurring We want to see them close to nadir to not have to steer with HC food and lately, Ducia has been dropping lower too soon in the cycle which makes for a bit more steering with HC food . Right now she is bouncing from the lower numbers today You can probably get some rest tonight but, to make sure get a +2 to see if she is going to do any fast dropping and then test later according to that number . So, if her +2 is a lot less than her Pre shot number, it will be an active cycle.

Ducia's +11 BG was 372. We have 0.75U ready. I have no idea what she'll throw @AMPS. :nailbiting: Also she isn't as perky as she usually is by now.
Or how fast will she change after. :nailbiting:
Giving that yesterday greens which are good for everyone but extremely uncomfortable for ME, should I give her AMPS enlarged meal? Let say 2/3 LC Friskie pate not her reg 1/4?:confused:
Last time she ate was 2 Tbs @+9 it was 3:45 am Pacific.
Can you stay to post?

Hi Tanya,
I was looking at the lowest green from yesterday to judge the 0.75 u dose. It wasn't too low on a human meter (50 is too low). Is she eating well by herself? If so, you can try giving her 2/3 can LC Friskies this AM.

I think you need more data in this dose and post DKA it's important that she gets enough insulin so try 0.75 u again. I know you'll monitor carefully. Unfortunately I have to go out in about 2 hours. I can check in before then though. The +2 test after a dose is important to give you an idea of what might happen.

I'll be checking in all day, and I'm sure others will be around as the day progresses. I also agree that it's a good idea to hold the 0.75 dose, especially with her so high this morning. Hopefully we'll soon get her into a regular enough pattern on this dose that you'll be able to ease up on the testing a little bit, at least overnight. Looking at the spreadsheet, I'm worried that you are running yourself ragged and not getting enough sleep-- it's really important to take care of yourself, too! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
