HAPPY ONE YEAR OTJ ANNIFURSARY TO OUR LITTLE SUGARBEAR!​

Who ever would have guessed after 22 months on insulin we'd be celebrating one year OFF insulin? Of course we would never of been here without the help and support of this board, so we are hoping you and your furbabies will all help us celebrate mochas big day! She tested in at 73 this morning :mrgreen: (a little higher for her, but poor peter's been out of testing practice and had a hungry girl on his hands when he needed to do another test after an error the first time!) She was given some new freeze dried chicken treats as a present and she loved them as usual!

We still get a kick out of mocha doing laps around the kitchen island at fuddy time and still try to trick her by turning on the water when she's the farthest away from her "spot" Yes, we are mean parents :lol: She still loves her beauties with her q tips and she is still in love with hoomy, the humidifier .. We've come to the conclusion that mocha thinks hoomy has the direbeasties, cause he is always so thirsty! She say's she won't give up on him though :lol: She loves laying in the sun, eating her fuds, trying to take twix by surprise and snuggling with her momma at night .. The last year at the falls has been wonderful, and we are hoping for many many more!

Hooray Mocha!!! That is definitely something to celebrate and we are dancing for all of you!

Mocha is such a sweet girl. I love the visuals of her zoomies for fuds and her love for hoomy. She is such a huge joy in your lives and in all of ours. We started Lantus a year ago Saturday, so almost to the day that Mocha was OTJ. Yet, you have been there for us every day since then cheering us on. Thank you so much Devon for all of your support over the last year, even after your dear sweet girl was at the Falls. Hugs to you my friend. Celebrate big tonight!
 
Your update totally made my day. I can't believe its been an entire year. How awesome. I love hearing about Mocha and I'm so glad you have stayed on LL. Your posts always make me smile. Give your beautiful girl a kiss from me today. She is a rock star!
 
Devon, a big congratulations to both of you on Mocha's one yeat OTJ! I love hearing all about her and especially her Q tip beauties. :lol: She is an inspiration for all of us, and I remember how hard you worked with her. Thank you for allways being there and supporting me and Mags as well as everyone. I'm sorry I can't do the emoticons, as my puter shuts down, but both Mags and I are jumping up and down in happiness at our little Mocha and the one year annifursary. Lots of hugs and scritches.

Oh, I'm so happy you finally have a condo that I can visit :) Thanks for always visiting Simon's condos and encouraging us. I feel even more hopeful now that I've learned that Mocha had quite a long time on insulin and still got OTJ.

Yes, mocha was on insulin a long time before going OTJ .. other kitties, even longer .. and who knows, maybe kitties who have been on it for years and years will one day go OTJ .. I don't know .. but I do know this .. mocha would not be as happy and healthy as she is today, if it wasn't for all the support and knowledge on this board. For those that came in near the end of mochas insulin days, or even totally after .. you won't ever see the frustrated, stressed out posts we made .. You won't ever know how many times members on this board had to tell me it was ok to feel frustrated and it was ok to feel stressed, so long as we kept on going on .. and that is all I have to offer to you just starting this dance .. keep on going on .. it's hard .. it's VERY hard .. and even if OTJ is never accomplished you HAVE to know the choices you are making now for your babies, are probably better choices you would have ever made for them, if not for FD ..

I remember the frustration you had so often. That Mocha really worked you and Peter!!! As we can all see, it was well worth it.

Wow, a year already! What a huge milestone. You guys worked so hard to get Mocha where she is and I know you worried a lot along the way. I hope she will have many more years OTJ.

Peter and Devon, I can't believe it has been a whole year since Mocha's OTJ party. Simon continues to idolize Mocha and hopes one day soon that he can join her on the OTJ train.

aw, congratulations devon! we're so glad for you and mocha! i always love the stories of mocha and his humidifier. it's so quirky and very unique. i remember your OTJ party because we had just started on FDMB. it was very encouraging to see kitties going off of insulin when we were so early in the dance.

you are so sweet to come every day and cheer everyone on. we sure appreciate you!
