Hello everyone.

Today there is some better news.
My DGM is home today from the nursing home/rehab. She has her walker to get around and is doing pretty well. She is still a little weak on her right leg but that should
get better with physical therapy which can now be at home.
She hated the nursing home so much.

My dd is communicating with us almost every other day. She got a very lucky break. She cold called all the accounting firms (50 she said) and one of them was willing
to give her an interview. It's a small firm.... just the accountant and his secretary....
He is willing to take her on as his protégé and is giving her 40 hours a week at $12.50 /hour.... no benefits but since she hasn't even graduated high school.... that is a really
great opportunity. He does charity work for the Indian population in Arizona.
I figure he's getting a personal assistant that he can train without having to pay them an accountant salary.
We will have lunch with her and her husband tomorrow when we go to Albuquerque for haircuts/shopping. She and he finally signed the papers.... no wedding... just
courthouse papers. :roll:

Shadow is doing her usual ... getting her tiny dose of bupe every night.
Do any of you order the bupe from a pharmacy? I want to find it cheaper than getting preloaded vials from the vet.

I'm so glad to hear that it's good news all around! Congratulations to your DD for getting that job, too! I hope that she does very well there, which I'm sure she will, and she grows within the company, or perhaps get a better job that has benefits after some time. I hope you're having a great day so far!

So glad you checked in! Yay for DD on getting the job - baby steps...sooooo happy you guys are talking again. DGM is rockin' the walker! I hope her right leg starts to cooperate as it should. I don't think I would be thrilled with a nursing home, either (although I do appreciate they exist and are willing to support our elders). You are a saint, Rhiannon. I hope you get back what you give 10 fold. Hugs and scritches to Shadow from us!

Good news all around. I'm glad things are going better. I've always gotten bupe from the vet. Maybe you should put bupe ? in the subject line.

Hi Rhiannon - good news condo today. Good news on your DGM, her being home will be better for both of you. And yeah for DD's job. Nothing like a little responsibility to help her out.

I get my bupe from a compounding pharmacy - I get it chicken flavor although they said they normally do plain. Neko now looks forward to her bupe. I got a 3 months supply, 2 doses a day. The pharmacy told me it has a shelf life of 3 months, so that's why the vet did a script for a 3 months supply. It's WAY cheaper than from the vet a syringe at a time. It works out to about $1 a day, but prices in Canada may vary. Marje also got her bupe compounded for Gus, she might have better local pricing for you. I just clean and reuse the Monoject syringes that I've gotten bupe (or cartrophen) in before. That's what the vet said to do.
