I read your post, then @Sandy and Black Kitty - thinking the very same thought. Is it possible that he's in any pain from the dental? I know it's hard to get a look inside their mouths...but I'm wondering if he's got a tender gum? Sore tooth? It is odd that he's so pink after this many days...but sometimes...an irritated gum could cause higher numbers.

He's done with the bupe, but now he's just on an antibiotic. It is very possible he's still in some discomfort, but he's eating great, spirit is feisty. He's on the AB until we get results of his jaw bone biopsy.

Oh, and yes, we've got a follow up appt booked but not until Monday the 16 I'm off Mondays. He REALLY fought me giving him the bupe :( I'm hesitant to get more honestly

Okay . . . what are the rules in regards to Jonesy getting an increase for tomorrow's AM?? Right now it's +4.5 and he's at a lovely 128 . . . what the hell??

There’s a post extraction healing process going on - expect the unexpected.

you are on cycle 9 tonight. You could do one more (tomorrow AM) for a total of 10 if you want and re-evaluate, assuming ketones are negative

Thank you @Sandy and Black Kitty ! I did shoot the increase, but I'm able to run a curve today, PLUS I'm off tomorrow and can monitor all day if need be. Now with his numbers being pretty consistently HIGH, then he'll drop like a stone suddenly, I'm really starting to be concerned that there is a major issue happening with the jaw bone. I should have that biopsy back early this week. . . . :( I wasn't truly worried until now that his numbers aren't dropping.

Mind you, as you said, he's busy healing . . . I have to remember that. He's still getting an antibiotic so that could also possibly be keeping his numbers up? But, depending on what the biopsy says, if it is a chronic infection due to his mouth being infected for sooooo long, he'll be on antibiotics long term.

ugh . . . fingers crossed
