Okay… now that all of the drama and worry is over, seriously, this cat needs to come down. I’m waffling between giving it another full day or even two on this dose (if he doesn’t do so today) due to him being stressed yesterday, or whether to increase tonight if he doesn’t come down today. He dipped unusually low (for him) last time on 1.25, but was that just a fluke? I’m really not sure, as the days since have mostly not been his normal routine, either.

Yet on the other hand, I don’t want to wait so long glucose toxicity sets in…

Anyone have thoughts?

Are you home today? If you are, and you can monitor, you can probably try the 1.25 again. He could also still be bouncing from that blue and green a few days back. This is just my opinion. Sly bounces like crazy after lower streaks, and takes him a while to clear.

As long as insulin is going in, even the 1 unit, there shouldn't be any glucose toxicity.

Unfortunately I was not home. Nor will I be, during the day, for the rest of the week.

Jack gets glucose toxicity (isn’t that what you call it when they have too little insulin, so they run high, then their body decides it wants to stay high at all costs? If not he gets whatever that is) at the drop of a hat. In fact, I’m not sure he’s ever really stopped having it. Ever. We can get him down with some effort for a little while, but as soon as he trends up in in pinks - or worse reds - for more than a couple days, it becomes all the harder to get him out of it.

His body just never wants to be in lower numbers for long. We can push the sugar down with insulin, but it never wants to be there. His liver is super resistant to being trained.

It’s really really frustrating.

And speaking of glucose toxicity or whatever you call it, looking at tonight’s PMPS - gahhhhh - if this isn’t a harbinger of a drop tonight, if there’s no drop tonight, then definitely dose increase in the morning!
